Very nice armguard. You did a great job on the tooling.

Going to be starting the knife for this bow in the next week or so. I've got the blade and the osage. Just need to finish a couple of things I've got going now, then I'll be starting it.

Hope to do a build-a-long with it.

I'm thinking the one with the black lace would look good with the black belly on the bamboo backed bow.

That sounds good Mike..... I think the lacing on the white one looks like Indian Bone beads.... It's got a bit of a primitive feel to match the selfbow...... Terry

A 6' package arrived this weekend from the Ferret residence. That Mickey does a mighty good job of floor tillering...even cut the first facets on her for me.

She's a little dry, about 5.5% MC so I think I'll bring it up a bit before bending it much. The limb with the knots needs some bending to match the reflex of the other. I'll address that first.

Pictures to come...

Terry, she's getting wiped down with a damp cloth and sitting where the rh is about 40%. It's 20% here in the house b/c of the cold weather we've had (you wouldn't know about that sort of thing) [Smile] I think it was really dry at Mickey's too.

Well, waiting to rehydrate wood is kin to watchin paint dry. I'm itching to be tillering on this bow.
She's up a couple percent, to 7%+, so today I went and did some adjustment to one of the limbs. The one with the knots was pretty straight while the other had about 1 1/4" of reflex. I figured I might as well make 'em the same while waiting for the MC to rise a little.
Here are a few pre-tiller pics.

 -
Notice the one limb is straight

 -
Laying out a caul with some finish nails and a ruler

 -

 -
Olive oil on the bow so as not to lose as much moisture.

 -
The reflexed side got the same treatment so hopefully they come out the same.

I'll be showering with this puppy tomorrow [Smile]
