i am fairly new to trad but i love it i have been shooting a long bow only for about a month now. I have played with differnt postions of holding the bow. I have seen to find it but the bow is canted pretty hard and this is the only way i can shoot accuartely, i have heard some people say that it shouldnt matter how you hold the bow as long as you hit anchor everyt time. am i doing something wrong, im not to worried bout it cuse i am deadly out to 30 yards as long as i concentrate on my spot. any suggestions would be greatly appericated

Lots of people cant the bow quite a bit. It's really personal preference. If it feels right, and you have no doubts about it affecting your shooting, don't worry about it. If you feel that it is keeping you from shooting as well as you could, that's another matter.

I was told that you should cant the bow at about the 2 o clock position and that how I do it. Seems to work fine for me. I think the kant was in the older days prior to bows being cut past center.

I use just enough cant to open up the sight picture, only a couple degrees. At least for me, the more I cant the higher I need to bring my bow hand to hit on target.

The key is that whatever you do, you do it the same for each shot. It's about consistency...

If you lay the grip in a natural position in your hand and draw, the can't will come natural,Hold your hand out without the bow in it as you were actually holding a bow.Look at your hand and it will show you your natural cant. But with that said I'm not deadly out to 30 yards. So if it works don't change it.
