I bought this 1963 tamerlane 35# bow which shoots 40# at my draw. I am shooting 6 inches left even after I move the sight it's full way left. I thought the 400 spine was too stiff so I bumped the field points up to 175 grains and the bow flight improved and moved right but still left 6 inches at 20 yds. Is it something else than the sight? I picked up recurve for the first time after a 25 year hiatus. Could be a form thing for all I know.

Where is your string blur in relation to your eye and the riser?

I hadn't concentrated on the blur in the past, just my anchor point. I went out today and looked for the blur and it was 6inches to the right of the riser. Where should the blur be? Moving it over closer to the riser does move the group right but my groups really open up.

Sounds like a form problem not a sight problem. String blur should be in front of your eye and on the left side of the riser sight window. This will vary a little form shooter to shooter but... If it is as you describe, then you WILL get left arrows and it's not the sight. Can't really suggest more unless I can see you shoot. Is a video possible?

I have a 1970 Tamerlane, 35@28. I'm shooting 650 spine carbon tech arrows out of it and they fly like darts. I'd think 400 spine is extremely stiff? I couldn't get anything less than 600's to even fly out of it, no matter how much weight I put up front. Maybe try a weaker spine arrow and if still left, try a softer side plate.

I have a 31 inch draw so I suppose the stiffer arrow is needed. The spine chart is borderline 400 500 so I erred in stiffer. I put 175s on the end an fixed my flight problem. I will consider the spine again if a form fix doesn't work.

Playing with string blur position really changed my left issue. I was able to move the sight way in to compensate. The string position is so drastically different it will get some getting used to. The groups are improving after initially changing my hold. Now all 6 in the red and yellow 20 yds.
