Hello all hope you all had a good Christmas.
Im going to be in Arkansas the last week and a half of March 2010. Does any body know of a hog hunting operation within a 2 hour drive of Siloam Springs. It doesnt look like any hunting season is open then so public land hunt is out.
Got my son a bow for Christmas and would like to take him on his first bow hunt when i come out.

Don't count public land out just yet. I'm looking at the regs book (pp8) Word for word from the book.
Raccoon day or night hunting: sunrise, Sept 1, 2009-sunset, March 31, 2010.
on pp50 it says, "Unless otherwise specified, furbearers may be taken with archery equipment, firearms no larger than .22 calrimfire or shotguns with shot no larger than T shot. Bobcats, opposms and raccoons may be taken at night when treed by dogs.
I'm not familiar with the western portion of the state but I do hear a lot of talk about hogs near FT Smith. Might help get you started.

Thank you Ill keep that in mind and do a little research on it.
Arkansas should sell an annual hog permit. Would allow hunters to hunt them when no other season is open, bring in additional revenue and help control the population.

What about coyote season?I think you will have to buy a furbearers permit to coon hunt, but im not completely for sure about that, haven't read the regs lately.Good luck.

I live in Siloam Springs and I saw some hog sign at Wedington WMA a couple of months ago. I was planning on going after them after deer season. Now it's after deer season and I realize how steep those ridges are, I'm going to pass. I moved here from East Texas this year and we frequently had them in our yard. I've decided the terrain is not worth the effort to hunt them here. It's all yours!
