Dont mean to highjack this post but i have been looking at the WMA's out there on google earth and every now and then you see a house or cabin in the middle of them. Is this a peice of private land in the middle of them? If so how do you hunt around them without disturbing the land owners or worst case trespassing?

Hey Pops how much longer before you can come join us?
To answer your question the boundry between the two properties is marked with signs or sometimes paint on trees. The markings are close enough that you can draw an imaginary line and stay on the correct side. At least that's what I have seen.

No Problem….. I have 20 acres and a cabin surrounded on 3 sides by the WMA. There is a 3 strand barb wire fence around mine with posted signs and purple paint. All the privet property on /within Gulf Mt. that I know of is marked pretty obvious. As far as disturbing some one on their privet land…. I can’t and would not do a thing about someone setting up a stand or hunting close to my property line…. The WMA is for public use.

I've been going out in the evenings, sitting on a little camping stool and shooting at my 3d deer target. Shootiong sitting down was kind of weird feeling to me but I have deffinately improved. Yesterday I went out and plopped the little chair down at 25 yards and fired my first arrow of the day. Pop! Right behind the shoulder. I just sat there for a few minutes enjoying the site and to give myself time to cool down and shoot again like it was a cold shot.
Next two shots under the same conditions resulted in two more kill shots. I'm feeling good. Today I plan to put my ghillie on and add that to the session as i plan to hunt mainly from the ground on this upcoming hunt.

Also if a boat is needed at bayou meto I have the jon boat that we fished out of at Des Arc and used at Ouachita last year. I've never been to BM but I'd be happy to go check it out with you.

Yup the weather today got me itchin to get in the woods. Went and looked around Camp Robinson SUA today, got within 10 yards of a small buck until he spooked and stepped within an inch of a cotton mouth and realized I can fly. Hope to kill a few squirrels with Pac this comin weekend and break in our new bows.
