in the spring I'm thinking about cooking so i have a few different posts..

so I'm ready to go from my table top fryer to the bigger propane tank type,, maybe from Bass pro cause I'm 30 miles from there. not sure if there is a difference between them but I'd rather hear what other hunters recommend than just grab one off the shelf.

I love to fry fish, chicken, pheasant breasts, even want to try frying some deer meat (getting the idea from eating country fried steak)

Unless you are cooking for a big crowd, getting a huge propane deep fryer, like one for a turkey, is a waste of oil. If you want a turkey size fryer to deep fry turkey, that is fine, but for just deep frying a few fish, that is a lot of oil, and fishy smelling oil at that, when it is over. I have a turkey fryer, and it is great for turkey, crab boils, clam bakes, etc... For deep frying fish, fries, chicken fingers, etc..., I have a 1 gallon unit from Waring Pro. It is electric, has a decent size well/basket, and a break-away cord for safety. It is a great unit, and costs about $100.
To me, unless I am doing a fish fry with hush puppies, onion rings, fries, etc... for a lot of people, I cannot see wasting all that oil, and money on the oil.
