I will be hunting outside of Linwood Nebraska the first full week in November. If any of you are nearby, I would like to stop by for a visit to introduce myself and chat with some fellow Trad Gangers. I notice that White Oak lives in Freemont. That is definitely close enough for a get together. I hope to get a chance to meet some of you. Good luck chasing deer this fall!!!

Shawn,
Fremont is certainly near Linwood. I used to hunt near the town of Morse Bluff which is just a few miles from Linwood.Excellant deer hunting along the Platte River and in the hills nearby.
We will be definately chasing deer starting Sept. 15 on our place near Scribner, Ne along the Elkhorn River but we would welcome a chance to visit. Keep in touch as your hunt nears and we will see what we can set up.

Good huntin,
Ed

Returned from my hunt in Linwood. I saw a lot of deer, but most were on the neighboring property. I did manage to get a shot at a 4X4 the last night before rifle season. The shot was not very good. It was just forward of the shoulder. I lost the blood trail after about 50 yards. We decided to call it a night after searching for over 4 hours. I left word for the rifle guys to keep an eye out for him. I was not about to go wandering around out there with a bunch of rifle hunters about. That can be bad for ones health.

I tried to get in contact with White Oak. If you are out there, please respond to this post so that I know you are OK. I will try to look you up the next time I am in Nebraska.

You folks sure have a lot of deer and other critters in Nebraska. Enjoy the rest of your year.

Hey Shawn,
I appreciate the concern and am really sorry I missed ya.Last night was the first time I opened my mail in about 2 weeks.I found your message apparently after you had left.We had some things come up that ran me ragged. I just caught up with all of the Trad-Gang posts last night. The heck of it is, now I am on vacation for 2 weeks. Unfortunately we are in the middle of our 9 day firearm season. Oh well, I will still have the following week and 2 more in December.
I hope you enjoyed your hunt here.Sorry to hear about your deer. You are right in not wanting to be out and about during the rifle season.
Once again, I'm very sorry I missed you. I hope there is another time.
Keep in touch and good huntin,

Ed [campfire] [coffee] [archer]
