Anyone finding any deer with this disease? I've found two so far on my little piece of ground I hunt.

Nothing so far on our place. My son was on the East side of the river( Elkhorn) last week and found nothing but running deer. I was on the West side last weekend and didn't find anything but we only have 60 acres. I am only going by rumors but I hear thus far it is confined to the Platte.I hope to be out cutting wood and mowing over the weekend. I will be covering a little more ground then but hope to find nothing. Take care, Ed

I'll be curious to know what you find out there. I'm thinking about heading west to try and get on some mule deer as I'm not having a lot of confidence in my area.

Broken Arrow, so far nothing but healthy deer on our place. We have spent many hours out there since Labor Day weekend trying to get caught up on work after a long hot summer and been over the entire place on both the East and West side.I talked to our local C.O and he has had very few reports in Dodge Co. on the Elkhorn. One on the Pebble and I know of one on the Maple. He was waiting for the bowhunters to get out this weekend to see if more reports came in. We have 2 water holes on our place that normally hold water all summer. An oxbow also touches our property in 2 places. All of these went completely dry several months ago. This may have helped us as there is no stagnant water. You can see where the deer are using the river for water. If I were thinking of going anywhere in the state I would contact the C.O in that area to find out the health of the herd. My son knows the conservation officer in the Ogallala (sp) area. Talked to him a week ago and they were experiencing some heavy losses out there. Anyway, best of luck wherever you choose to hunt. Take care, Ed
