No good luck here. Great morning had a 6 point come in a present a shot at 5 yards. 18 high out of my lock on and could not close the deal, to much of an angle and shot under him. Had all the fun with out the mess.

Been sick since Thursday night, stomach cramps, chills, blah, blah. Must be swine flu, all I want to do is eat corn and sleep in the mud. Oh well, it isn't the first opening weekend I have missed, next week...I hope. John Berry

I shot 2 pinecones, one with my longbow on Saturday and one today at 15 yards with my recurve. Saw a deer before shooting light and 200 squirrels on Saturday.Acorns were dropping like rain. Feel better John.

Acorns you say HHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Might have to point the hooptie north on Fri PM. We ran around on public land. Man I forgot what a treat that was. I was leaning up against a tree on Sat evening (I`m very good at leaning) wondering how much I would pay for the thermacell sitting on my truck seat, when a guy walks up to me a says " this is my spot you`ll have to go somewhere else" It took everything I had not to laugh right in his face. I says "well Its public land and I was here first so tough" An he says , ya ready, " well I scouted this spot last month and marked it in my GPS, ya wanna see" That was it I started laughing and walked off. He`s telling his buddy how he ran off this dude with a funny accent I betcha...cracks me up.

Mr. Boss, If you are ever in my spot, it becomes yours. If that dude only knew how close he was to .....well you know. They say you don't take a knife to a gun fight but I'd feel pretty good if I took Mr Boss

went hunting after work, I am hunting with one of the recurves I made back in July. 6 or 7 yard Quartering away shot, she ran no more than 65 yards and was done. Posts: 2529 | From: Ocala , Florida | Registered: Mar 2005

Good for ya Robert! That's a sweet looking little recurve you've put together. Nice to see there's someone putting meat in the freezer! Now it's time for the rest of us to bring'um back dead!

Thanks, I have made 4 of them so far. This was one of 3 does that came in, I could not stand up since they were so close and very alert due to the swirling winds, I was able to shoot in the sitting position this is a shot that I pratice. the arrow penetrated to the fletching with the razorcap broadhead sticking out just in front of the front leg, I got her lungs and top of heart, she was down in less than 6 seconds. My friend Todd got a 9 pt yesterday afternoon with his trusty Black Widow SA, He got him a little far back so he gave him about 4 hours..a bear beat him to the deer, the bear just covered the buck with pine straw and leaves, Todd took his deer back from the bear!
