Just getting back into the groove after returning from the Professional Bowhunter's Society banquet in Nashville. Imagine several hundred bowhunting "brothers" in one spot enjoying each others company, trading lies, and all in all having a grand time. Dr E. Donnall Thomas Jr. delivered the keynote address about the future of bowhunting and it was very thought provoking. Our most recent guest Monty Browning was there as well as the Wensels, Mike Mitten, G Fred Asbell, and many others.

The people of PBS represent what is good in our sport and I can't help but draw parallels to the good people of TBOF.

In this economy, (when will we stop using that phrase)I know it is hard to spend your money to join an organization but I encourage those of you who consider yourselves to be ethical bowhunters to support PBS. When I see you folks at the TBOF events I see leadership and knowledge rivalling OR exceeding that of the "big names" in the sport. Share that knowledge with the PBS and give PBS some more Florida representation. Trust me when I say you will get more in return than you will ever pay. The friendships made over the years through PBS are as they say priceless. And remember, friends invite friends to go hunting, hint [Wink]

If you aren't a member then you're missing out great fun, new friendships and great opportunties, it's as simple as that.

Appreciate the kind words reference the folk at TBOF. The PBS sounds like a very worthy cause and organization. Where do I sign up?

And that also goes for any ethical bowhunter who may be interested

Thanks for the interest guys. I'll send out back issues soon. The cover has the app and I'll sponsor all of you if nec. I'm not doing this to win some contest. I just believe in PBS.

Robert, yes I could use a "weathered" cedar limb. No hurry and just cut it 4 foot or so. I'll have to do some final trimming anyways.

3 or so inches in diameter would work. Character prefered.

Don: Thanks for the kind words on PBS. Glad you were able to come to Nashville. I've been a member of PBS pushing 40 years and have never missed a single PBS gathering. It's like a big family reunion... except everyone gets along. Ha. The years fly by way too fast anymore. Hope to see you in Portland in 2012. BW

I can't say enough about PBS and the people who make it work. If you'll look around, the membership is comprised of "those 10 or 12 guys" from every state that always seem to get things done.
The willingness to share their knowledge and the humbleness to treat you like an equal is what makes the fraternalism the best part.
I've been a Regular Member for 20 years now and I'll tell you how much PBS means to me, they are in my will.

Are they going to hold it against me if I reference Don Davis, Barry Wensel AND Biggie Hoffman in my application?

Gregg, Don't mention us if you want in!

Actually, I don't believe you need a sponsor for an associate membership. I'll double check though.
