I should point out that this a hunt for free-range hogs. I have 7 feeders with low tree stands or ground blinds set within 10 yards.
I only conduct hunts twice a month, so 24 out of 30 days the hogs are not hunted. It is archery-only, about 95% trad hunters so far. No barking dogs, swamp buggies, rifles(all of that stuff has its place, just not here). If you ever wondered how a traditional bowhunter/guide would set up a hog operation, this is it. Had a fun hunt at my property this past weekend. It was nice meeting Johnny(johnnywayne) and George(xroadshunter).Jesus/chooch(rushlush)I've known for years. Johnny had a swing and a miss and then hit one good Friday afternoon.We looked well into the night and again the next am, but no hog.Sometimes you do everything right and it doesn't work out. George and Jesus both saw hogs Saturday evening but the wind had the pigs nervous, no shots. Left to right George, Jesus, and Johnny.
