It looks as if my family and I will be relocating to the Jupiter, Florida area if all goes as intended.
Everything is up in the air and things are happening quickly, but I should be there late summer-Early fall.
I am excited for all of the new places I have to explore and the new lessons I need to learn about hunting in an environment completely different than most everything I have done with bow in hand-
I just thought I would pop in and let you all know you will be getting a transplant from the Hoosier state, that was originally a transplant from the Buckeye state-

Well PJ, I guess this is one way to increase the PBS member numbers in Florida. Be sure to let me know when your in the area. I can see to it you get to hunt this year even though your to late to apply for any quotas. Jupiter is a little South of me, but we can make it work!
J.W Corbett has some good hunting, but I dont hunt there after archery season, they do however have a archery only area. Please DO NOT form an opinion of Florida hunters as a whole based on the folks you will run into in Corbett!

I will have a lot of re-programing to do where hunting in Florida is concerned.
Although I have hunted in SOuth Carolina once-Florida once and South Texas once-I am by no means a seasoned, southern bowhunter.
We have the occasional venomous snake in Indiana (Copperhead, Cotton Mouth and Timber Rattlers) I will have to relearn how to hunt in snake country, as it has been a while. I know its not rocket science--watch where you put your hands, face and butt---
Hunting in the sort of heat you guys have all year round will take some getting use to. I usually do yard work when its too hot here unless its the rutt, then I will hunt in swimming trunks if thats what it takes-
I appreciate the offers to help find a place to hunt. I have no clue how much hunting I will get to do this season, but any time spent in the woods is always a plus-
I will keep you all informed of the whens and wheres once I find a place to live (assuming everything goes smoothly with the purchase of the business)
Thanks again.

I dont know PJ....I've seen how you handle tarpon. Seriously guys, PJ is a good fellow, he sees our state as a good place for an outdoorsman, unlike many of his northern counterparts. Plus he's a fly fisherman.
I do think there are a lot of opportunities for sportsmen in Florida. Many of the different than what I am use to, but opportunities none the less-
HUnting in sandals and shorts is going to take some getting use to, but I am game for almost anything-
I am sure I will be returning to my native land for the WHitetail ruth, the salmon and steelhead runs in Michigan and duck hunting in a place where my lab will not be eaten alive by a hungry gator, but other than that, I see me spending plenty of time afield in the Sunshine state-

OK, just knowing DonD gives you street cred.. I have never hunted in shorts and flip flops to many chiggers and ticks for that.

Robert-Don't give Don a head any bigger than it already is!
I am looking forward to exploring Florida, if this deal goes down and I make the move-
I now need to figure out where the nearest archery range/club is to Jupiter so I can get some 3-D practice in once I get settled in.
I did find a place to rent that has enough room for me to built a backstop and place my deer and turkey target in the yard-so this is a plus-
I will need to find a place to drag the guns out when I want to do some shooting, but I assume that won't be too hard-

I think you need to get us.. I mean you need to get an airboat. Florida has "many faces to her" as Flip Pallot is fond of saying. You 're gonna have to get out and explore. I won't deny you that pleasure. I 'll help out where possible and maybe we can get a few of the TBOF boys together and do a hunt somewhere. And I hear there are so many fish that you can hand feed tarpon in the Keys....

Don, an airboat would be cool---but I need something for running around the bays, flats and the inter coastal first--
I can't wait to meet some of the TBOF gang--
