Thank you for many things Mr. Stein. Organizing this hunt was a wonderful thing and it looks like it will bring many folks together. I am sorry that you will not be there for the gathering. I am sure those who can attend will keep you there in spirit.
Thank you for your willingness to apply your skills to our service in arenas much bigger than bowhunting. Stay safe and sane. We'll keep you and yours in mind.

Please call me Dave, Mr. Stein is my father
Thanks for the kind words. The best thing you all can do for me is have a great time on this hunt. Tell good stories, eat good food and enjoy the fellowship.

i wanted to bring this thread back to the top. as most of you know that have kept up with this hunt, Dave has received the call from Uncle Sam and is shipping out tomorrow for parts unknown. Dave has passed the torch to several of us that will be able to take over from here.
myself, UK Bowman and Big Ron HuntALot will try to step up to the plate and handle this for Dave in his absence.
i will be meeting with Jenny West one day next week to see the property and learn the boundaries and any other specifics for this hunt. in talking with her today it sounds like a very nice piece of land with a lot of game.
what i would like to do is to have a roll call of sorts to find out who and when folks would like to hunt. the land is broken into 6 sections and depending on how many bowhunters will determine how we need to handle it. if anyone is interested in joining me next week to look over the property (do a little scouting)just shoot me a PM.
in the mean time anyone that is interested and feels pretty certain they will make it if you could respond to this thread. thanks!!
finally i would like to wish Dave the best of luck, my prayers and God Speed on a safe return and soon. we will miss you brother.....

And do we need to fill out the hunting packet they have or just bring a copy of the waiver signed??? OOOooo Is anyone going to be there Sunday??? If I get off I'll be there Sun-Friday... Also need to know if anyone wants some hind quarters and such... just in case I fall out of the stand and land on one of them??

If you can bring a signed copy of the waiver form that will be good. I will have copies available too. I am not sure if anyone will be there Sunday but we have the property from Sunday to Sunday but there is no hunting allowed on Sundays as I am sure all are aware of this.
The property is about 7.5 miles off of Route 6 outside of Scottsville VA.

We are covering the application under a group permit. Please read a copy of the rules on the website and bring a signed copy of the liability waiver if you can. There is a sign at the entrance to the farm. I will get you directions shortly.

How far is it from Germany and do I turn left or right when I get to 38 deg 53'north latitude 77 deg 02'west longitude? Do I have to buy an international permit or am I covered under the SOFA agreement?
