Are there any MLA members that will be heading over to Compton Rendezvous this year? Caroline and I will be there about midweek. Maybe we can get together.

As long as the next surgery goes as well as this one, I plan on being there. Don't know what day just yet (Thursday or Friday) but there is a few of us going as a group.

4 or 5 times. Seen you doing the kids area a couple times, even stopped 2 years ago and said hello. That is when Matt and I had the MLA booth set up next to Denny. Seems like every time there is one heck of a storm that blows in on us.

Going to miss this year. John Vasos and I are taking our wives to the U. P where we are doing a fund raiser shoot for the Wounded Warriors that same weekend. Hope all goes well and the weather behaves this year.

I seriously doubt I will have a booth there, but i would not tell somebody else NO if they are willing to set one up and promote the organization. The only interest Matt and I received from the attendees was from guys wanting to know if the pins and patches were free. Our thoughts from the experience is that there are so many Out-of-State shooters that come to the Compton shoot, that to them the MLA just wouldn't be something they would have an interest in, or the in-State shooters that are there are either members or at the very least know of the MLA and the wonderful benefits of being a good quality member, although, Caroline and yourself have a very nice way of making all the benefits abundantly clear to future prospects.
I have plans of this just being a socializing event for myself with Vendors and Attendies, so in a way, I guess I will have established a mobile MLA booth.
See you in about a month now.

I plan on being there early Thursday morning, hoping that Thursday is early enough to get a nice spot for my Casita trailer. This is my first Compton's, so I am gratefully accepting advice from anyone regarding anything about Compton's, but especially about early arrival--what's best.
If Tom Moran has recovered enough to attend and exhibit, I personally would like to give priority to spelling him at his stand so he could take a break, eat, piss and whatever. I am looking forward to getting the longbow I have ordered from him; while we agreed on delivery at Compton's, that was before his surgery. I would rather see him in full recovery at Compton's and my bow sometime later, rather than Tom pushing himself.
Best to all, Peter Collins

We are planning to go now. It doesn't look like we can make it to GLLI so Compton may be the last opportunity to see good friends this summer. Aways lots to do at Compton, This will be our 4th year. Lots of places to spend cash too,Ha Ha!

Hope you can make it. We will miss you all if you don't. We will miss you at the GLLI anyway!

You better come up with a better one than you had at The Spring Shoot; bigger tires and more people to harness to your "chariot" would be a start...
I will be at Compton in the President's entourage. Have not missed one yet.
I am running the chili contest and bringing the two time MLA champ along with another batch of his Double Black chili, so make sure you are in Mr. Bub
He has started his article for Sticktalk as well.

Awesome! I have entered every chili contest Compton has had but nothing seems to impress the judges. Its been darn good chili but no awards. We continue to work on the project. Slowly it is becoming what we had invisioned. I think the next truck will need to be a 4-wd. AHHH!!

The "Chariot" will be parked by then, and I'll be crutching around the place. Any where there is a chili contest, I look forward to attending, knowing the "Double Black" is entered is a HUGE incentive to be there.

As of yet we have not received much in the way of articles for STICKTALK. Compton will be too late to try to get material from people. Hope those who have stories in mind will get their ideas organized and send them to us.
