Tim, I was hunting near Philipsburg for the first few days and then back towards Helena on the weekend. Ended up seeing three bulls and a couple other's?? Never saw enough of the others to tell what they were. I had a great time as well.

Tim, that was going to be my next guess... You can tell by the trees and "parks" that its not west of the divide. I've drove past the Little Belts a few times on my way to other hunting spots. If it wasn't harder to make a living on that half of the state than it is here, I'd move there.

Looks like you folks had a nice adventure. It's tough for non residents to hunt elk because you don't get to hunt an area every year and learn how to hunt the area. As with any member of the deer family, learning the area and how to hunt it is half the battle. Nice photos, thanks.

Sweet pics, Tim. I liked the one where you can see the railroad tunnel in the mt., and Wendy liked the one of Cathy's snowman.

Great pictures! I sure miss my ol state. Can't complain up here though (Alaska). I'm from the Bitteroot, and went to college in Dillon. My heart still aches when I see pictures like that. Thank you for posting Chuck

Excellent photos. I bowhunted the Cabinet Mtns in northwest Montana twice. The Trout Creek/Thompson Falls area. I swear these were the most beautiful mtns I ever hunted in. Montana is a great state with some tremendous hunting and breathtakng scenery.

I was out in the Missouri breaks last week for 5 days with HooDoo Arrow and it was slow the same slow deal out there also. Not the year to hunt elk. Joseph

Great photos, Tim. You're a lucky man, to share that hunt with your wife. Where is Cochranville in PA? I'm from Uniontown in SW PA.
Big Medicine, my family and I stopped over in Hamilton in August on the family vacation, on the way to Idaho. We couldn't believe the beauty of the area and the nice trout stream at that park on the west side of town. You too are lucky.
