Doug Rutter and Vanilla Gorilla who Oklahoma Outdoors filmed making a bow. Notice the bow stave at the bottom of the pic
Film crew at work filming the process
A little while later in the day..Vanilla Gorilla and bow
I believe he was shooting it before the day was out. I hear this fall they are going to go out and film VG hunting with the bow. How cool is that?

Ralph Renfro is like a pied piper for the kids that want to make bows. Busy all the time. Great asset to the trad community
and Mike Hames never quit either whether laying out abow, running the bandsaw or splitting out osage logs. Great guy. BTW Mike I forgot to get some cane from ya. Can you mail me some or bring me some to Mojam?
BTW I saw this bow finished later that night and made and put a floppy rest on it for the young man. He was quite a primitive kid. Heard they did a documentary on him living off the land. Sure looked the part ha ha

KenWood and myself had a great time, got to meet a lot of great people. The stew and chili were a great treat at the end of the day, and it was very kind of everyone involved to provide the food. You should have seen Ken trying to explain to Wendy how he needed those two new staves and glue up that he brought home. It was great can't wait till next year. Mr. Ferret I would bet for a small price (say half dozen flint pointed\river cane arrows) I could come up with Sarah a new birth certificate and make as old as she thinks she is. Well that might not work then your son would be to young for her. Ha ha.
Your right, I have already had to explain just what a "dull" broadhead could do... to a few young men.
Once again nice meeting you at Ojam, David
