I have been to 2 of these shoots and hope to make it 3 this year. This club has been around a LONG time and the Sherwood gang puts on one heck of a shoot. If you have never been, you realy need to put this shoot on your calendar. Last year there was a comp course, an excellent Tough Man range, a practice/fun range that had stuffed animals in front of field targets and one of them had a manican head with a cigarette hanging out of the mouth to shoot at, and another with an apple on the manican head, a Field Archery round, an indoor range where we were shooting each others bows, novelty shoots.....nnedless to say, I went home with numb string fingers.

Glad you liked it pebowbender. John Scyphers puts a lot of effort in the fun shoot. Who has never wanted to shoot a apple off a head.LOL. We use a 3 in thick cardboard head and put it in front of a target butt. Not because we doubt everyone would make a excellent shot, just could not find a volenteer to hold the cigarett in his mouth. Looking forward to the STAR . Thanks, Roy

The wait is getting shorter - only 58 days until campers set up in Roanoke. Plans are moving along and preparations are under way. It will be good to see everyone there!

I tried to email RD but have not heard back from him yet. Are there still camping spots open for the asking?

Will be good to see you there Greg. Bring your Dad along and he'll have a good time.

Stringstretcher - I'll ask him about camping and let you know. I doubt all of the spots are reserved yet but I have been out of town for a bit so I really can't say.
