I did get to take a few pics and should be posting them later today, if all goes well. We had a blast but it was a little "skinnier" than any club (especially one that works as hard as this one does) would hope for. Like Kevin said, May is their Lull shoot and the new scoring system did have it's drawbacks (and I'm not talking about drawing back the bows - LOL) but most everyone I saw was having a good time just the same.
First I must congratulate my buddy Ruddy who took his first ever First Place Trophy, shooting his Primitive bow, and some of my Bill Stroupe Arrows (at least I got in on a win that way - LOL). We shot with Preston and his cute little Daughter "Princess" Lilly (and her "Frog - )
More (with pics) later - B

I had a good time yesterday, thanks again to the guys that put this thing on. I am not hot on the scoring change but it doesn't make that big of a difference to me. My only reason for not liking the whole no 5 ring thing is the fact that if you shoot an animal quartering away where the 10 ring is it will wound it but if you slide it in that last rib angling forward you would score a 5 on a target but kill the crap out of an animal. That being said i know the difference in hunting angles and target angles so i will play by the rules on a 3d course whatever the rules are or wherever i am at. The guys at sissipahaw are some of the best people i know and i appreciate their hard work and dedication to trad hunting and trad target. People should be appreciative of the work all of the club members do at every course we shoot, remember they are not getting paid they are doing it for us to enjoy. Complain about gas prices not a stick in the way of a target.

I am optimistic that the turn-out in Aug. will be back up to snuff for you guys (and for us guys - LOL). Time to see how my pics came out this time. Again, some folks I didn't know (and some whose names I can't recall). Just overlook my failings and enjoy "The View" - LOL
I know this first one I took is pretty - just because the subject is such a beauty - Mike's German Shorthair. What a nice dog, and so friendly (of course I suspect she was smelling all my little doggies on my jeans - LOL:
Mike shows some of his beautiful, interesting bows to Ruddy - If I had money instead of just good looks I might have bought one 40#er longbow I looked at - I just know it was a speedster for it's weight (didn't dare try it out - LOL):
Checking in at the desk, with Kevin and son, Joshua:
"Princess Lilly" was all fired up to shoot with her Dad, Preston, Ruddy, and I - until she found and caught this toad near the tree base by the practice bails - then all she wanted to do was hold her (poor) "Froag" all the way around the course. (she finally let the little feller go on the Tough Man course):
Ahhh, the mysteries of a child's first capture of a "Froag". I told her that I used to catch a lot of frogs when I was a kid, but that I always let them go. She said "I caught a froag when I was young - here one time, didn't I?" (She has a heck of a vocabulary.)
More to come

Since I have other things I must attend to now, I am going to get the pics posted. I may get back later - or tomorrow and add "words" - or I may not but enjoy anyway - LOL.
Preston got an award - either Longbow or tough man, not sure which (gotta get me a hearing aid - LOL)
"Dirty Harry" won Seniors (and got all "bleery-eyed" about it - LOL)"
My driving partner, Ruddy took Top Primitive:

Gonna be interesting to see what will be "up" on the third week in AUGUST, which is their last, and always biggest/best shoot of the season. Make sure you're there if at all possible - Make plans now - that'll be Saturday, the 18th of Aug., if I read it right.

If you're talking about Mike's slender Osage Hill style bow that drew 40#, yeah, it's a looker. I'm glad it is RH. I'm bow poor already!!!
