Does anyone know of a good place to find some Hogs? Not really wanting to shell out the cash for a guided hunt.

I have been trying to find the shortest drive from TN to decent hog hunting the past couple of years. In my opinion you have to go at least south of Atlanta. I have heard one guy say that he knows a place eat-up-withem near Big South Fork.
I have been dreaming a little lately of making a road trip down Savannah, GA way. Maybe Fort Stewart.

I live in fentress co. and they are getting to be a problem in a lot of the co. They tear my inlaws corn fields to pieces (but they only get in them at night) I deer hunt some in big south fork and have yet to see much hog sigh but I know they are in there. The game wardens that work there are very helpful. All you gotta do is ask them and they will tell you where to go to get on them. They have helped me and friends on turkeys. I'm also intersted in getting in a hunt for them though. I've got some friends that have been hunting some hogs down there I'll ask around and see what I can come up with, but Im interested in getting in a hunt if anybody gets one going.

That would be great. Let me know what you find out, I'd love to get a hunt going. I have no experience with Hogs, but I can't wait to get some.

I know a park ranger who works for gsm national park. His job is to try to control the hog population in the park, which I'm told is out of control. I will give him a call and see what permits are required, and where we would need to go. I believe it is open year round with little to no cost. I will check on it and post with the findings asap to get a hunt together for 2011.

Looks like it will have to be big south fork. I was wrong about the park there is no public hunting. I will try to find info on bsf, as far as were to go and when. I will post a date for a hunt when I get my ducks in a row. If anyone has a tip or other helpful info on the area, please send me a pm.

Hey I asked around tonight with my friends that are big time hunters around here and they said that they as far as they know most of the hogs have been ran out of big south fork. Said they have been pushed out of the majority of the park, but there is so much land that is involved with big south fork that I am sure they are there somewhere. I still say that that calling the park rangers would be the best bet

I've done some looking and poking around here on the forestry. From what I'm seeing they are mostly on the areas immediately surrounding the prison. They are pretty speradic (sp?) every where though. Kind of here today and gone tormorow.
I had big plans on chasing hogs ALOT here but I'm learning that mountain hogs are really alot tougher than low-land hogs.

Ditto Ethan. I've hunted these critters in three different regions of TN now, and have never laid eyes on a live one. And yet, have seen as much sign and trail cam action as I would back in GA/AL where I ran havoc on them. Very transient, these pigs.
