I'll definatley stop by if yall get a cabin, but will probably just sleep here at the house. Of course, yall know anyone who wants to is more than welcome to camp here at the house. If it rains, we can just move in the basement. Lots of room.
Bob, last we talked David said he and jenny are still doing research on the pregnancy thing. You'd think a couple of doctors would have that figured out by now. I mean, I'm a machinist and my wife is a teacher so we have some lee-way, but doctors...SHEESH!!
Do we need a big pot of gumbo to go with the elk steaks?
Last I talked to Nathan, he and his new better half and the girls may be coming, but think they're gonna stay with us.

Mr. T, you my friend are wise beyond measure. Must be the company you keep. Ha Ha! On the canoe stuff good luck. Call before you haul is my advice and ask for the park manager as well and not the first foreigner (no offense Rob) that answers phone. Learned that lesson the hard way. David the youngin solution is easy, involves frozen peas. I would be curious though to see if they have an innate craving for crawfish! I can hear it now, "srew them mashed sweet potators, bring on the bugs pappy!"

Took our canoe for a pleasant ride on FCF lake Sunday. Pleasant except for the crying 17 month old trying to jump out of the canoe.
Anyway, no problem with private boats on the lake. Just register at the boat dock and let them know where they need to drag the lake at.

Good news on the boat thing. I will let Charlie know!
Also, Ethan. I am a simple minded cook. If I am cooking it will be round steak (backstrap ?, the packages say round steak, they are round). I will just salt and pepper and throw on the fire. Hopefully there will be a grill top between the fire and the meat I am throwing {I will be bringing a grill top}). If somebody wants to try something more fancy with the meat they are more than welcome (I am too lazy to put effort into my cooking).
I am getting excited about this hunt, studying the maps of FCF, I always make things more difficult than what they are.
How many of us are gathering this time?
I am bringing Charlie along if that is fine. It sounds like their is not enough interest in the cabin, so Charlie and I may be camping in your yard or the FCF campground.

Sounds good to me Bob. Looking forward to meeting Charlie, and of course everybody can camp here. Don't really know how many will be here yet.
I'll volunteer to grill up the steaks. I have a secret recipe that is.....life changing..... Posts: 1725 | From: Cumberland Plateau,Tennessee | Registered: Oct 2004

That sounds great to me. I am finding elk meat to have a rather suttle flavor (not that flavorful to me) and my life could use a change. I just turned 50 years old and am a little freaked out by it.

Bob- Up here on the Plateau, when you say round steak it's the same as saying boloney. You might get it by Coonie, I don't know. I'll be waiting on the good stuff though.
Charlie does know this is a bow hunt right? Last time I saw him on a TTAS bowhunt he had an M1 rifle and a 41 mag Ruger...

That sounds like the makings of a great hunt to me David. I could hunt and claim work time all at the same time. Awesome! Pig baiters and long range stick bows. That would be a first for me too if a flint arrowhead got pushed through a bullet hole. All mine so far have been 3 bladed. Coonie sure can throw a party. Ol' senior coon will wring his neck!
