So I am packed and leaving TN for awhile..... Colorado bound in the morning and staying out there till the archery elk season closes... Ten day temps show 40s at night and 70s for highs, no humidity, chiggers, or ticks in the high country. BTW, the deer herd looks good here at LBL. I counted 47 deer in the freshly planted soybean fields from the South welcome center to the dumpster on Ft. Henry Road two evenings ago. No new fawns but the turkeys have their poults in tow and seem to be doing well. One positive about the dry Spring is the turkey poults survived well, no floods to drown them or wipe out the nests........ I'll keep ya posted on the Colorado game outlook........See ya!!!! I rolled in to Colorado yesterday and the trip out was uneventful as far as any glitches. I caught up with Chad Slagle at the casino he was about to perform at and gave him the extra "Life is Good" CD I bought at the Classic and then headed on out.... Hope to get in some trout fishing and hiking, scouting before the archery elk season opens.....

Perserverce, my lad! Dad passed away the day after Father's Day back in TN, wildfires have been burning around me,a "no campfire" ban with NO rain has tried my willpower this trip. BUT the rains have started up in the afternoons and I am sorta hard headed about things so I'm staying put and see what develops from now til the end of September out here. Got some good pics/short videos of elk, bear, and small muley bucks....... the cool temps keep me planted out here this summer!

Sorry to hear about your Dad Roger. I've been following the wild fire situation some. Glad to hear the rains have dampened things up some. Sounds like your having a great time. But think of it like this, a camp in the Colorado high country without a campfire beats a WHOLE LOT of things in life!! Have fun my friend!
