If anyone has a deerskin that they are not using, I would be interested in taking it off their hands. I want to try my hand at tanning.

Please send me a PM if you have one that I could come pick up in the Seattle area.

I responded once before but there may have been a problem since I have seen little activity on the forum, so I will try again... I tanned an elk hide 15 years ago. I would be interested in how your experience goes. Like roofing the house, I don't think I will do it again. It was one laborious, messy job. I put so much into it I will never get rid of it.

Ken,
Thanks for the reply. It does look labor intensive but you don't know until you try. I plan to get our for late season so I will let you know how it goes.
