It has come to my attention that I haven't made this clear to everyone...
C Smitherman Custom Knives was started 2 years ago. I make custom knives from pre-made blanks in damascus steel, 1095, 5160, 52100 carbon steels. On occasion I will do knives from ATS-34 & 440C stainless steel. Handle materials I use range from standard woods to exotics like mammoth tooth and mammoth ivory. I prefer to use stabilized woods. Stabilized wood is impregnated with acrylic resin to make it virtually impervious to liquids of any kind. I assemble my knives using the highest quality materials and workmanship. I use West Systems Marine epoxy for assembly which is completely water proof as well as having a high sheer strength. The sheath for my knives are also handmade and tooled by myself. They are made of 6-9 oz vegetable tanned leather.
If anyone is unsatisfied with their knives please contact me. Thanks!

Clarence makes a great knife that is both functional and affordable. His leather work is excellent. Custom knives that sell for $300 and up are nice to look at, and if you buy the right one, at the right price, good investments. As much as I might like to have a knife made by a "guild member" I just can't spend that much money on a knife that I will not use. I'd rather hunt and I can't do both. Lord knows I've tried. God Bless those that can. As for Clarence and others like him "Keep up the good work. Your efforts are appreciated".

You can't beat Clarence's knives. He's done repair work for me on a Case Bulldog that needed some new scales. Fixed it right up with some stag! It made a nice gift for my hunting partner.
