Have you been like me and followed some of joebuck's (Joey Buchhanan) stories of how he kills turkeys every year - without a blind??
I've got to tell you - I tried to follow his methods last year, and if it weren't for jumbled nerves and poor shooting skills, even I could have killed a turkey using his techniques. They flat out work!!
Just in time for next spring preparations, Joey is going share his secrets of success on longbeards with a bow during an evening seminar at the Pre-Spring Arrow Fling at Tannehill State Park in Alabama on February 25th.
Compton Traditional Bowhunters has teamed up with All South Archery Association at the 3rd annual pre-spring arrow fling and have assembled a great line up of seminars.
In addition to Joey, we also have G. Fred Asbell and Byron Ferguson on the schedule. All of the shoot details are found in the Trad Events forum.
Maybe if I pay attention during the shooting portion of the seminars and combine it with Joey's wisdom, next spring could turn out a little different for me! Posts: 8764 | From: Lake Mills, WI | Registered: Mar 2003

Joey needs to video that and sell it. Great speaker, if you understand that ya'll stuff, and probably the best turkey info I ever heard. It was great even with Biggie and Marty laughing, snoring, and rolling on the floor the whole time.

You know it would be worth the trip Don! Downtown Birmingham is about 1/2 hour from Tannehill State Park, and from the looks of the map the airport isn't much further than that.

Thanks guys for kind words and especially for Teresa Asbell / Comptons for inviting me. this is going to be really fun for me speaking in my backyard to bowhunters that share basically the same woods as I do. I got a lot new stuff since Kalamazoo and PBS conventions that will get you thinking . Or at least some confidence to hunt these redheads without a blind. Bringing all my props and hopefully I can show my PowerPoint/ setups slides. thanks Whips for the call other nite and look forward to it.
