I've always been a G.I. surplus or wally world camo guy. It has always served me well. Camo is probably not even really a must have to kill game.
I have a Wyoming Elk hunt coming up this fall and I bit the bullet and ordered some sitka gear.
1st, this stuff is very spendy. The camo pattern(optifade) seems odd to me also. There take on it is that it's designed on how ungulates see and how we see. Not sure how they tested that theory out.
Once I got the items unpacked I was impressed with how light it is. I put it on to check for fit. The fabric stretches. The cut is somewhat form fitting but not binding due to the stretch. This stuff is probably the most comfy clothing I have ever tried on. We'll see how it holds up.
All the seams, zippers, etc look to be well sewn and high quality.
I bought last years closeout stuff on sale.
For slow paced treestand hunting, probably not worth it. For extremely active hunts like sheep, elk, and mule deer, yes.

Just wait till you start CLIMBING in those Ascent pants. You will never wer anything else!
The camo patterns are made to fool the ungulates eyes; Gore spent $2,000,000.00 studying how deer see. The open country is set up for on the same level encounters, the forest is set for 30 degrees and a contrasting open sky background. The are NOT set up to match any certain terrain.
