After seeing Doug earn his JS rating at the ABS Show in Atlanta this past spring, I requested (begged is more like it) to get one of his first JS stamped creations. What a beauty it is too [Not Worthy] Damascus blade with sheep horn handle hidden tang hunter. It even came with my initials on the blade...JS!

Most know Doug is my first teacher. So as a good student, I needed to take it apart to see how he did the hidden tang [scared] Well my digital x ray did it neatly. Thought ya'll might like to see...Doc

Wow that is beautiful! I can't wait mine is done and will be here soon. He sent me pics the other day. I can't post or I'd share. Thanks for the x-ray Doc. Always wondered about that.

Congrats Jeff, very cool blade. I know someone who owes you a sheath if it didn't come with one.

Steve O,
We take Xrays of common objects to show kids groups that tour our clinic. We'll show Xrays of dogs & cats then show a couple of everyday things from around the house. It's always fun to hear their guesses on what the objects are [Smile]

I'll take a bow bolt bow into the clinic next week. Right now we are in shut down mode with a N'oreaster pounding Boston.

Roughcountry,
I have two versions of your blade made up but never handled them cause I go into shut down mode come Salmon & Deer season. Should be opening up forge soon...errr maybe after Hog season in Aiken [Roll Eyes] Doc

That's a beauty from Doug, Jeff. Way to go.
And having your initials on it is a real bonus!
