Well, its not an in the woods hero pic (can't find any) but he is the biggest I have taken.

He is a ten pt. Can't see g4 on the right and g2 on the left. 164 3/8 Final P & Y score. He missed going B & C due to side to side disparity. 22.5" inside, 4.5 yrs old. G2 on the right beam is 14"

I have to tell you all, the first time I saw him was at about 20 yds going away slowly. Ya all know what a going away big deer looks like? A freakin Elk... I shook so bad I almost hit the ground. At my age this is likely to be my best deer ever. This is the deer in my avatar

Slayer:

I actually went back and paced it off.... Was too "nuts" up when I shot him.

16 yards.. wide open broadside and had no idea I was there. Oh yea, on the ground.

Honestly, I spent the next two plus years not much interested in the bucks I saw. That was awhile ago now. It passed the next year.

Thanks guys. He is on the wall right behind me as I write this. "Slick", my nick name for him, watches everything.

He was/is an amazing animal.

As I said above, at my age etc, I will not likely beat him.

Hayslope: back when I was a kid there was a buck this big just south of Nyack on the NY/NJ line off 9W. I never heard of anyone getting him. He lived on both sides of the line. That was back about 62 or so.

Izzy:

Yea, my buds that are still in Bergen Co, NJ tell me they see a lot of good deer up around the state line.

I would love to come back and hunt that area in Rockleigh, NJ. or even around the line at Tappan.
