I just picked-up a 66" Longbow made by Black Hawk Bows. It shoots great, with very little stack. It has red elm limbs / riser and clear glass on both sides. It doesn't feel like 60 lbs but that might be because of its length. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the manufacturer, or when it was made? The only marking I have found are on the bow handle.

I have a few black hawk bows, they nice imo. Used to be made in PA by the Culverta bros? They exact spelling escapes me right now. If I remember correctly they were out in the 50s and 60s.

Made in Illinois by Jack ? I will have to look and get the last name for you. Post a pic or 2 and I can verify it. Flint

Not trying to high jack but are there possibly two different black hawk companies? Or was there at one time?

Yes, there was a Blackhawk made by the Cravatta brothers in McKeesport, PA in the 50's and early sixties, and a Black Hawk bow co. don't know much about them, though.

I have a black Hawk Wasp. Its a little recurve and by the textured material under the glass I would assume it was made in the late 50's. Still a great little bow. I think the shelf could have been a tad bigger but if you cant it just right

There should be a three digit number above the poundage info on the bow that will tell you when it was made. Mine says 657, which indicates it was made in June of 1957. Hope that helps.

Scattershot....that would not be a Jack Smith Black Hawk you are talking about. Don't think he was making them that far back.
