Ok guys, I am giving you this one for free. I love short bows, I draw 29". I shoot split fingers, but I have no finger pinch! After years of really sore upper finger and trying everything to stop the pinch, I have finally discovered a cure. I have tried to get this developed out of plastic so I an sell them, but have had no luck. Anyhow, you can have this idea for yourself. Take an empty soda can, cut it open with scissors. Lay it flat on table. Fold the flat aluminum over so you will double the thickness of the aluminum. Cut out the pattern in the pictures below. Be sure to cut the pattern so that the fold in the aluminum will hold the pattern together in double thickness. Wrap the cut out aluminum with a layer of duct tape to cover the sharp edges.Bend the cut aluminum pattern into a "U" shape that will fit inside the top finger of your glove. This aluminum liner will protect your finger, If made to the correct size, it will not come out of the finger slot of the glove and there is nothing is between your finger and the string except the glove. If done correctly, you will not know the liner is in the glove. All you will notice is "NO MORE FINGER PINCH",

Will this work with any style of glove? I shoot the Skookum glove from Alaska Archery. If I'm correct, you are shooting a glove from American Leathers. I recognize the nylon of the face of the finger stalls.
Also, the finger I get the most pinch with is the bottom finger. I always have a callous on the bottom side of that finger. I have it despite shooting 3 fingers under.

Here's a trick I figured out shooting a short bow, and I shoot this way now with all bows.
Preset your fingers leading with your middle finger, having your index and ring finger staggered a half with back of your middle finger, and draw leading with your middle finger.
This presets the fingers in the same position they will end up at full draw, but they don't ROLL back and pinch.
Try it, it may work for you as well.

Before I start drawing, i extend my index out straight, my middle finger has a deep grip and ring finger slightly on the string....I shot a 48" bow for 3 years...I shoot this grip from everything also.. I take my index totally out and also tiller my bows for this

Joey, that helps to explain to me why you shoot such a stiff arrow. You lose less to friction on the release. The concentration of pressure would also help to make a crisp release. Bet you have a good callus.
You're too big to shoot a 48" bow- you adapted your string grip to your environment.

My liner will work on any glove, you just have to make it fit inside the top finger hole. I have used it on several gloves including the Damascus.

Don ( as always) your exactly right. I basically shoot my bow as my middle finger is like a release.. I almost shoot 1 finger. The guys at compound store can't believe I shoot bullet hole through paper tuning with trad gear....I really can shoot 65-110# arrows through my center shot bow.............but the man above gave me really strong hands and fingers...so I strong enough to do it........I sold that 48" bow . it was one loud rascal....

I noticed this is what I do also! I only use two fingers with my mechanical releases, so when I moved to finger releases I just removed my index finger from my release. Anatomically, your middle finger has the most strength when you put it teamed up with your ring finger (an old trick from rock climbing, never use the index finger and the middle finger on the same hold, it's not as strong as the middle/ring combo) so when I began shooting split finger, it just made sense to me to rest my index on the string, and use my middle finger to draw/hold and my ring finger to back it up.
Works great for me!
