Hello Trad Gang members I am the first one to say there are a lot of quality bows out there. I would like to add one to the list. The Original longbow Model from Dave Dwyer of Dwyer longbows a sponser on this site.It draws smooth, stable, shoots very quiet with good enough perfomance for me while delivering a very accurate arrow. Thanks Jerry

ChetterB,

I have to agree with your positive comments on Dwyer Longbows. I recently purchased the Dwyer Defiant Longbow model. My bow performs just as your review states and it is a very attractive bow, as well. I could not be happier with my purchase of this high quality bow.

I recently got my self a Dwyer Dauntless, shoots very quiet, love the long thin appearance and the tips are just so unique, pointed and sharp.

53# @ 28", I had to put the brace height at 8" to remove the slight vibration with the arrows I use, gold tip 3555's at 30". Now the bow is so quiet, only thing I hear is my arrows flying..

One thing I need to mention, the grip is too thin, and the lacing on the leather grip bother my fingers a little. nothing you can't get used to, second day shooting the bow got me a 174 on the trad range..

I have a Dauntless on order. I researched numerous custom bows and settled on the Dwyers because of their excellent customer service, quality ans aesthetic beauty of their bows. I can't wait to get my new bow!!!

I have shot Dwyers for years, mostly defiants. However, my favorite bow is the simple long bow. It is not super fast or made real fancy. Mine is jsut a hunting bow. I love hunting and shooting with it. It is just a great joy plain and simple! It is SOOOO quiet, if you are 5 yards away, you may not hear my relese. With low profile shield cut fletching and non vented broadheads, you can not hear the arrow coming!! I guess that makes up for lack of speed. However, it does put a 490 grain arrow at 165fps with 48 pounds of pull at my draw. He makes them prettier if yo want, but mine is simple and elegant and is deadly quiet. Lastly, it is just plain fun to use. That is what I require in a bow.

Bob.
