I ain't fearless! Ize jest crazzzzzzzzyyyyyyy.
Wasn't easy balancing that hacksaw. LOL.
I'm just toying with the toothpick bow (smiley). It was 57" NTN bend in the handle and around 8-10#@28" LOL.One heavy course of sinew.I plan on shortening the toothpick later. The other bow is 56" NTN bend in the handle 35#@28" Which will also be shortened to make a pony bow.(maybe).
I just figured I would sinew some reflex into them to see what happens.

Patch job helped a little but not much. Gotta play catch up with the lower limb and try to get it bending closer to the fade. Will be tough as there is a big bump of a pin cluster there.

Jeff,String grooves are done normally. You can string it to brace but DON'T try to draw it.I guess it's about the same as clamping it and putting reflex into it.Just not using heat or steam. From what I hear,as the hide glue and sinew dry out it may draw the bow into even more reflex and increase the draw weight.Maybe you remember Cooter's bow?
The U shaped bow is so danged thin I could probably it backwards and not even hurt it.It's only about 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick at the most.It was actually going to be a joke but I started getting ideas floating around in this thick head of mine.

Alotta bit of work. I don't think there is enough bow left to get it to a good tiller. It may end up a pony bow yet. It's either gonna kill me or cure me.NOT!

Oh yes. Bring it home. Looking good. Scrap'er in the middle and scrape the right limb mid limb on. There's nothing like a character bow. It's a rescue and it's special. The tillering is best done with all 5 senses and not just the eye. There's more to a good tiller than meets the eye. The tiller will not appear perfect visually for obvious reasons but you will now it when you have it. It will develop. I will be still now. Jawge

Oh no Jawge has been into the Uzo again Seriously there is a certain feel when a bow starts to bend just right.

Thanks guys. One way or another this will become a bow or splinters.LOL.
This is being a tough one.It just doesn't want to bend between the patch job and the tip. It is shaped like a very slow U between humps. I'll be working some more on it after work today and most likely all weekend.
