Iím primarily a bowhunter that has suffered from target panic for years. Heck, I started trying to control the stuff by using the old Frydenlund timers. I bet you young guys donít even know what they were. Letís just say I watched a lot of feathers fly off my arrows. Thank goodness I found the Klickety Klick, then later, the Crick-It draw check clickers. Iíve been able to function with their help for the last few decades.
I recently saw a thread about a new magnetic clicker and thought it looked very interesting and posted about how promising this new clicker looked. A few days later I got a PM from Larry Wilhite. He simply asked if Iíd like to try one and then, give a fair and accurate account of my observations on a forum or two.
The clicker is designed to attach in the plunger hole, or you can use two-sided tape, which I opted to do on one of my wooden risers. It was very easy to set up and only took a few shots to get it adjusted properly. Itís recommended to use with a steel setscrew put in the back of your insert, but since I didnít want to cut arrows to the exact length (for now) I thought Iíd try it by adjusting it to my field points. That proved to be very simple. All in all it was no more difficult to install and adjust than the Crick-It and I donít have that unsightly cord hanging from my limb.
As you can see in the last picture, the clicker is set (just) away from the arrow shaft. As I draw back the magnet pulls in to the threads of the field point and makes a slight ďtickĒ sound against to shaft. It works flawlessly and has never failed. One thing I noticedÖ when this clicker breaks I donít necessary (have to) release like I do with the Crick-It. I have no explanation for that; itís simply whatís happening. Itís more like itís a draw check rather than a signal to release.
By hunting season Iíll definitely have it mounted on my Titan or Morrsion risers. Like everything else, it wonít be for everyone, but if youíre a clicker user, it may be just the thing for you.

I got out a magnet and did a few "tests". First, my convertapoint adapters are aluminum, and the magnet showed no interest in them. Same for my broadhead adapters. The magnet was highly attracted to the actual broadhead. I shoot carbon arrows, and they are perhaps 3" longer than my draw length. I would guess for me to be able to use these I would need to use shorter arrows, or figure how to get magnet attacting metal on or in the arrow closer to the riser. Perhaps steel adapters?

I see no interference of the magnet with the field point. The second you release the magnet pulls back. I could not use one of these because my arrows are 2.5" to 3" longer than my draw for aiming purposes.
