Since the season opens during high summer now, in the middle of September, are we gonna try and stick with opening weekend, or shoot for a little later?

Caleb and I were talking about this a few days ago. On the one hand if we go the opening week the deer should be easy to pattern around the water's edge. On the other hand it will be hot.
Thinking about the hot portion of the choices I really don't know if it will be that much of a factor than going the 1st week of Oct. I don't think two weeks will make much of a difference around Hot Springs tempature wise.
Hopefully, some of the other guys will be along to give their thoughts on the subject. As for me I am good to go with either choice.

That's kinda what I was thinking. It's going to be nasty hot through October probably, so might as well get a jump on them. I only know my drill schedule through Sept, as Oct starts the new fiscal year and I haven't seen a training calander yet for that. Opening weekend should be good for me, but I can't say after that...

Bruce and I will be heading to Colorado that weekend so we won't be there. If you guys set a different date let us know. Sure is a great time getting together with the ARROW gang.

Don't make me any difference, I'd go now if the season was open. You can't predict when a cool front will hit. We were blessed last year with the cooler weather.

The first ARROW was help on the 2nd week of the season and if I remember correctly there was only one other bowhunter out there besides us all week.
We went opening weekend last year and there were more hunters than the previuos year. A few of them were hunting where i wanted to hunt but that being said this is a huge area and wasn't really a problem.
I do plan to hunt a whole week at this year's arrow not just a weekend if anyone would like to join me.

Man I'd love to. Just have to see how the schedule/money/time looks when it gets a little closer. It is more likely that I could justify one week long hunt rather than two weekends and twice as much travel. Have to see.

We seem to have more groundhogs than usual around this year. I can get out and plunk a few of them between now and then. Like rabbit stew, except not rabbit...
