With family in for the weekend and work commitments, I didn't get to spend as much time as I would've liked. Drove over this morning and shot the range and as always, the set up was great! Didn't get to visit with very many old friends or spend much time at the vendors' area, but to me, Cloverdale is about shooting and the range set up is hard to beat! Having worked at local shoots and been involved in setting up and running a 3D shoot I know the amount of work it takes. With the multiple target set ups at Cloverdale and the way the range is kept up, the folks at Cloverdale should be commended. If you didn't make it this year or have never made it there, you owe it to yourself to put it on your calender for next June!

Mike, I hope it is there next year. Attendance numbers this year are going to have a big impact on that decision I heard this time. It is by far my favorite shoot/rendezvous.

I really like Cloverdale. Just about my all time favorite. I had planned on driving up and shooting, but last minute family stuff stopped me. Sorry I missed it. I had been looking forward to it again this year.

My first time there and really enjoyed it. The range is the best I have ever shot for sure.
One question though and I'm definately not complaining but - Why weren't there ANY mosquitos? Neither of us saw, heard or got bit by any mosquitos, not even ONE - amazing.

We had an awesome time as well. Weather was in credible. Thanks to Danny Dupree of Tri State Traditional, we shot arial targets Friday night till almost 1 in the morning!!!! Then Saturday night we had the usual "Meatfest" (we missed you Mike) and then we had the 2nd annual Cloverdale Coon shoot. That lasted till well past 1:00 am Sunday morning as well.
An awesome time and we'll be there next year, just like every year.

I had a great time! Shoot was awesome, best one of the year my opinion, but there seem to be less and less venders every year. Pretty sad, I would hate to see it go away!

I had a great time. In this economy I dont miss the vendors. I dont have money to buy anything anyway. So its more shooting and less shopping for me. LOL. And the course they set at cloverdale is one of the best for shooting!

Agreed, great time was had! A special thanks to the Otto boys for letting me bunk with them, that made the time all the better. A wiser man than I once said, "Cloverdale is like a family reunion, only we actually like these people"...truer words are yet to be spoken.
I stll believe Cloverdale is one of the best events but I understand why the vendor numbers have dropped. A new approach for these events needs to be applied, what that may be I am uncertain. If vendors don't profit from their time at Cloverdale they can't continue to support it. Still there are vebdors who do seem to profit, perhaps the way these individuals market their products should be studied. Offering items not readily available on the net is a boon, as well as reduced prices and show specials are others. It is a two sided coin. In conversation with a regular vendor who sells used bows, he pointed out he needs to sell two bows just to pay his fuel bill for these shows but he can sell one over the net from the comfort of his lazy-boy and profit with vertually no cost of sell. It is a new world and a new market those who be inovative and adapt to these changes, both the events and merchants, will thrive. Those who do not will go away and simply become fond memories...
