Inviting all to view my pictures, and post any of you're own, traditional only of course. Forgive my amatuer photography, and puny trophies, but I had a blast when the pics were taken, and it was fun digging through them and creating this album. Don't forget to click through all the categories. Have fun!

No I don't recall. That is Bob Walker, though, and that pic is of the group at the Trad Gang Squirrel Hunt early this year.
He has a Woodchuck for sale in the classifieds, so he's easy to find. There is another pic of that bow in his profile.

Rick
-
looks like you got him fixed up with the best of equipment.is that a robertson recurve? the snakeskin backing is beatifull! nice quiver, arrows, and predator camo.lucky guy!
-
The bow is made by a local bowyer here in Kansas and the skins were applied by me. Noah got that bow for his B-day last August. The quiver was made by the wife (Michelle)of one of the members (sticshooter)here on TG. And the arrows we made up ourselves.
Yea he's a bit spoiled but he's the last one of my 4 kids at home, so I tend to give him the best I can. Actually I tried to do that for all of them, he's just the lucky one who gets it all for himself.

-
Killy, there's something dead in your pic. Looks like someone's breakfast disagreed wid 'em. Maybe, lead poisoning?
-
Tedd, It's a Custom made German Jager built for me in 1979. Back then if you wanted a good period gun you had to have it made by a custom gun maker. Nowadays there's some really nice factory guns available.
Killdeer, that's a sweet lookin Hawken style rifle. I've got one that's similar in .54 also. Good meat guns.
-
awesome pictures folks!! I love the ones of the kids!!! It is great to see people getting their children involved in the outdoors.

Man these are some great pictures, I need to break the camera out soon. I'm missing out on a lot of good oppertunities at recording my 7 y/o sons early bow days. Stan, is your daughter shooting an old Pearson Jet bow, I have one from when I was about her age.
-
Okay - so here is one of my favorit pictures! It was made in winter 1994 so it's quite old. But I like it very much because of the undisturbed - almost virgin - scenery and the high contrast of colors!
Back then I enjoyed 'stump shooting' with my old and reliable Jeffery LB 63#@28". Distance was 15 yards and temp. -10 °C. Falk

Just a pic of a young couple and their dogs that I took last year at a 3-D shoot. They were just out having fun and enjoying life. I can't remember their names. One of my favorite photos. Dogs were sound asleep while husband was waiting for his group's turn to shoot. We had stacked up a bit on this particular shot which was down a steep, rocky ravine which took a long time to retrieve/find arrows ;-)...Van

Ben is saying " In a tight you can actually field dress a deer with this thing" :)

Thanks Van, I never get tired of seeing the old pics.
I never was big on pictures. But, sure appreciate looking at them. I just don't have many of my B&W (black and white) days.
I had a quiver almost identical to that one. Betcha can't guess what brand it was. :bigsmyl: Well, yeah, it was a Ben Pearson quiver.

Visualize the backstraps, guys, just visualize the backstraps.

White ones were cheaper, right?
All kidding aside, you are one of my heroes here. I am constantly reminded how fortunate we are to have this medium.

Just curious.......would any of you be interested in turning your favorite traditional photo into an oil painting that you could hang in your trophy room (sometimes aka the living room)? If so, just send me a pm.

Ron L., that Pic of you "Picking up the Armstrong Cr. Buck" is great. I have the Poem you sent me framed&mounted under my bowrack. By the way there's one empty peg on the rack for my future 60" 53# S.Shrew. Hope I can manage to order it soon!

he is shootin an elk ridge bow purchased at the Iowa traditional annual get together in Ames Iowa. I've had him shooting since he was three and he is 5 and 1/2 here.
-
Good deal.
My kids really enjoy shooting their bows. Well, my 13 year old is starting to pick up other interests, but the two younger ones still eat it up. Amazing how that works.
-
Awesome pictures everyone! A lot of history and history in the making.
Van - I have a question about the picture in your picture. Back on page 11, with your Dad and Ben looking at the Deadhead (great picture by the way) - but the painting on the wall behind them, where did it come from, how large is it, when was it printed? Any history that you could provide on it would be greatly appreciated. My Dad has the same print hanging in his basement and I don't know anything about it.
Thanks everyone - Duane

Here is a older photo. Taken with 40# cedar self bow made of two billiets not by me but by Rick Byrd of Texas Longbows and recvurves. Yes it was - with Gary Haight of Weitas Creek Outfitters.

He is now running his camps out of a former forest service camp. This will be my third year with him. If you send me your e-mail I can send a couple of pics of his new camp.

Rick, what the heck did you shoot your bear with, a bazooka? Helluva blood trail you got there...! Congrats on the bear also. Idaho looks a litte "steep" for me... but then I'm old and fat. See you at the UBI banquet.
