I own Blacktail (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/36021c41-fc02-43b9-9387-7702f75d3818_zpsow8v22ve.jpg) , Dale Dye (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/e6a176a4-a00f-4d33-a967-ab727c6fea80_zpscirdqaef.jpg) & Bear's paw classic(Neil Jacobson Montana) (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/010_zps726c6ecb.jpg) Stalker (http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq136/bloodtrailer7/DSC02243_zpsebd43a25.jpg) all great bows but I like many here, I have a bucket list(of dream bows to own/shoot) that includes a Schafer(never shot one). looking at the photos Schafers grips seem to be different(lower ) How do they compare to the above bows?

I would say it's very similar to a blacktail.
-
Depends on the grip u order from Schafer.
-
The standard Schaffer grip is a little smaller in volume than standard grips on other bows I own, although not as narrow as the traditional Widow grip. I would imagine that if you were having one custom built, Dave could tailor it to your liking.

You would have to hold it to feel the difference.
A picture wont do the trick.
I have had a few Blacktails,Dale
Dyes and Schafers.Schafers feel different than the other 2.
Grips are a personell thing and I think all 3 of the bows have great grips.
I personally think the Schafer grip is superb and has unique qualities. You gotta get one in your hand. You will feel the difference! Its ergonomics more than just being a medium grip.

Currently have three tips. I highly recommend shooting one if possible. Have owned and shot all the bows you listed, but the tips are my favorite. The grips are very friendly to me and I love the feel of the bow overall.

I have owned a bunch of silvertips both from Paul and Dave. I believe his checkering is superb and makes a hell of a difference. Recently I become smart enough to describe to him what I was after and he hit it out of the park. I am a lefty so I have a little rise on the right side of grip keeps my hand from sliding. Grip med/low . The other Schafers I have had were wonderful but the newest riser I have is the one.

I can only speak to the Dale Dye and the Schafer.
The Dale Dye has a much larger palm swell. The Schafer is similar to a Widow, although not as narrow.
When I order a bow, I ask if I can get the grip as close to a Schafer as possible.
Everyone has their personal likes and dislikes. For me; the Schafer medium grip does it for me.
-
Schafers have a narrow throat and more palm swell than most but less than a Dale Dye. The thumb ridge is distinct as well. Like Maxwell, I've learned what I want exactly and ask Dave to make it med/high with a slightly narrower throat.

Like the other good friend above I have/had more than a dozen of Tips, everyone is a little different now I ask for the throat I like and the palm swell that fits me. If you give a bowyer the spects you want he must be able to make them for you. Dave does!
