Glad I brought some targets into the basement. Ive recd a foot of snow already and the storm is just starting. How are you guys making out?
-
Forgot to bring in mine. Snowing now. This part of Jersey is forecast to receive the least amount from this storm, but time will tell. Feel sorry for all those stranded on interstate in KY. Still have power, food and lots of beer so things could definitely be worse. Plus, my fifth granddaughter made her arrival on Wed. Healthy and happy. Life is good here.
Was out on stand last night. Perfect hunting weather but the deer decided on a different route. Sunday should be good. We shall see.
-
Got a bunch of snow-for Va.-but have to open the store I work for. Should be an interesting weekend.
Be safe out there if shoveling or driving.Take your time either way.
-
Ya can always strap on the snowshoes and do a little scouting. Great time to see how the deer travel. One foot is nothing. We got 128" in 2 and a half days a couple years ago. That's over ten feet! I admit I didn't do any scouting, though. Just snowblowing. Didn't miss any work though.
Stay safe!!!

windy and snowing!

I'm down in Ross county, Ohio working. We have about 5 inches on the ground and it's still coming down. I talked to my parents in Gettysburg, Pa and they are getting hammered. Not a good day to be in the Air.
-
Here in Orange, Va we've got easily 12-15" of snow with another 3-5" expected today. Winds are blowing like you wouldn't believe, gusts up to 40.
Gonna be a good day to spend inside...the shop, I mean. Got a propane heater and a bow to build  Warm me up some hot choco-late and make shavings :jumper:
-
We got all of 1" up here in Centre County so far.
I'll probably shoot outside today, but it won't take long until my fingers get numb.

You can say that again. And we were talking about another hunt today. We have one more Sat. Bucky so there's still hope. I'll be the drive master.
-
Heck, it's a blizzard down here in Aiken, SC. Every thing will be closed down with our 1/2 inch of snow :) . Not to worry though as it will be back to the low 50's tomorrow. Oh how I Don't Miss Boston in the winter...tippit
-
Muzzy, I'm 12 miles north of your parents. Expecting 20 to 30 inches by tonight.
Felix, shoot one for me.
-
Just north of Philadelphia. We are getting crushed.
-
Traveled from VA to NJ on Thursday to get together for a hunt today. Thankfully I was able to arrow a nice doe yesterday. Staying til Tuesday, hope to get back out on Monday. Stay Safe!!!
-
Take care people
I truly wish we in Mn. We're getting that kind of snow. I and many other Minnesotans enjoy winter sports, our economy is really effected by lack of snow as so much is geared toward winter activities.
-
I'm in the middle part of the state, just south of the dogleg along the shore,we are getting hammered ! They just ordered mandatory evac for some shoe locations. I'm set good, plenty of food, beer and wine, checked the generator yesterday, it's good to go, plenty of wood for the stove.
Hang in there everyone, spring is on the way !
-
Hope ya'll are all making it through the storm ok. Here in east Texas it's 40 degrees and sunny. But still too cold for me. I get chilly when it drops below 80.
-
Bout a foot and heavy winds in south jersey but we still have power for the moment...fire is crackling fridge is stocked and the shafts and fletching jigs are out...stay safe everyone
-
We had 55 degrees and some sun in the Willamette valley yesterday. unseasonably warm here for some reason...... But prior to this little break we've had serious rain storms one after the other for 2 weeks... typical Oregon stuff...
Good luck to you guys in that snow storm out east.

The wind is blowing the snow around so much that I can't tell how much has fallen. There is 10" sitting on the balcony railing, and it is piled higher than the bumper on my Tundra on the street. Some of the cars here are just white lumps. Snow is falling sideways.
Thank goodness they didn't make me come in and squirrel around in a mail truck!

My daughter & Granddaughters are in Gaithersburg MD, according to Google Earth they are getting clobbered. Hope everyone stays warm & safe.

Ah, so am I. I'm in Jenkintown. I got lucky and the snows blowing right over my neighbors garage and right over my Jeep. Looks like I've been shoveling it out all day. Haven't even left the house. Nobody else on the street got that lucky though!!
I wonder if anyone around here tried to get out for the last day of deer season. I doubt it.
Congrats on the new baby Cwilder!!
-
I was getting 10",but that was 6" ago. Im now in the 22-30" zone!
-
Same here Bucky. 6 to 10 was the original estimate. Still have power. Don't think we'll get what you might but still too much. If I never see another snow flake it'll be too soon. Did get my target in and have been flinging a few every now and then just to break up the boredom.
-
Congratulations Cwilder !
-
Right around 30" or more at my place today. I'm so glad my kids bought me a snow blower for Christmas last year. I went out early this morning and we were at 20" + at that time. Good thing I started then because it was about all the machine could take at one time. After the second pass this evening this old buck is done for the day.
-
I hope you guys can't get in this one heck of a storm stay safe and warm. Been reading about all the power outages. Our son is in Pa. enduring his first real snow storm. Me, I made 2qts. of Orange juice from our tree. Maybe do a little shooting in AM.
-
Probably looking at about 16-18" total here, but Ill have to break out the tape measure tomorrow. Shoveled a good amount today so tomorrow wont be too bad I hope. Started work on a string pouch to hang on my back quiver I made over the last couple weeks.
-
Ended up with about 32in here near Mt Holly Springs.
-
I'm still trying to get back to south central pa. I had a show to attend in Vegas this week with work. I flew out of Baltimore and they are shut down. Managed to get a flight to Pittsburgh yesterday. Hoping to drive home today.
-
Hang in there Keith, they say it will melt someday!By the way ,it is supposed to be 60 here today.

How crazy is it?
I am about 1/2 way up New York state, and not a flake.
I'll be shooting outside today, and hopefully you will be soon. Hang in there. Spring is coming.
-
They closed the dealership yesterday. They wanted us to go in today to clean the lot. Uh, dont think I will make it. Gonna have to dig myself out first. Roads are closed.
My brother just moved to CO on Thursday. Its supposed to be in tbe 50s for the next 2 weeks.
-
Just dug myself and a neighbor out of hip deep snow. Plows have not been here since 8 AM. That was a floppy blade in front of a pickup truck.
I bought a Tundra because I hate shoveling snow. My nice neighbors had kids dig them out, shoveling snow in front of my truck.
So, when she couldn't drive in the mess that is our street, I dug, shoved and finagled her car back into its parking place next to my truck. Good Samaritan? NO! Self defense! :readit: :p
Football and beer time now.

Man it's just nuts.......no snow in December, no snow in January.......I can see grass in my yard....I'm love'n it, but I don't think this can last. I shot outside for a half an hour today... :dunno:
-
Ron I don't know where Tribes Hill is but here down on Long Island we got enough snow for you and us.
Hopefully we get another storm next weekend.
-
I'm smack dab in the middle of the state, in the Mowhawk Valley. Right at the end of the snow belt. We usually get the left overs from the lake effects.....not this year. A few years ago we had 110 inches, average is about 60". Bad part is this big snow takes it's toll on the animals, really bad if it lasts.
-
I'm up between Lake Ontario and the Tug Hill Plateau. We usually have at least 200" per year. Sometimes quite a bit more. Not this year. We have maybe 6 inches on the ground now. And we're not missing it. We don't complain too much when we do get hammered, though, 'cause we don't get flooding and hurricanes and wild fires and tornadoes and earthquakes up here. Or big nasty lethal insects that fight back...
-
Not stuck inside any more. In fact, heading out in about 15 mins. for some winter bow hunting. Still have until the 31st of this month. No wind today and the temp is about 30. Perfect.
-
Ha Heard about all the snow. In laws on the east coast got nailed. Sunshine and 50deg here in CO. Cheers fellas!
