Jan. 26 2006 I launched Maddog traditional Archery. It's been great making bows for a living. I thank those here at the tradgang who have made it possible. Terry Green, for extending the invite to become a sponsor, Rob DiStefano for making and maintaining my website, and the numerous customers who promote Maddog bows. I couldn't say for sure how many bows I've built, but I do have over 1200 addresses in my customer folder, and some of them ordered more than once.
It's been a great journey, I've never operated at a loss, thanks to those who have made it a success. Thanks to God for making the trees that become all the pretty wood, and the good performing limbs, without those resources it couldn't happen.
I look forward to many more years to come, more years of making my next one the best one.

So, What have ya learned in the past 10..LOL
And I also want to thank you for you do for the kid's.

Thanks everyone.
Mike G, the main thing I learned over the past ten years is: The obvious one is Traditional Archers make great customers, I haven't had a bad one yet.
Plus
1) life's better when you don't have "boss", 2) don't screw with the IRS, 3) don't forget to order more epoxy, 4)any bow can simply shoot, it takes some thinking to get them to shoot great, 4)Make the customer happy, at all cost. and last 5) learn to take a step back, and a few days off now and then, no matter how much I like working.

Congratulations on 10 years Mike. My grandkids are sure liking those two Pup longbows.

Congrats! I hope you are still at it successfully when my bow gets old enough to shoot a "pup" bow!
He's almost 2 now, so it won't be long!
Offering the quality you do at your prices is top notch!

Congratulations Mike.
I passed on the youth bow that my daughter won a few years back but I'm still shooting the "Plain and Simple" longbow that you made for me.
Heck, I even used it to win a medal at the Sunflower Games last summer. :)
-
Yes Paul I remember that one. I lost track of time shooting that bow once I got a sting made for it, I hadn't even sanded it down yet, but it shot so nice I couldn't put it down.
-
Congratulations, Mike.
I have one of your plain models and it shoots great.
I would like to order a fancier one some day.

Ten years and starting to run-around with a Pearson. :biglaugh:

For sure, I appreciate lots of other bows. I like my own that I build as well, but still like shooting the old classic ones. In fact on my bow rack, I have 3 self bows, (I got through the annual bow swap on the bowyers bench) I have a Shakespeare Naceda, a Shakespeare Parabow, The Ben Pearson, Two fiberglass recurve sticks I used as a kid, and two longbows I made a longtime ago. Lot's a of good bowyers out there, professional and hobbyists alike, that make excellent shooting bows.

Great bows Mike. Congrats!!!
