I recently had Chuck at Two Tracks refinish a Skookum longbow that I had bought used. When I first bought the bow I thought I made a mistake when I finally laid eyes on it. It was in need of some TLC.
Seeing as how Mr. LaClair entrusted Chuck to make his longbows I figured he must know what he's doing. After a few emails I sent the bow over to Michigan and began to wait.
Well, a few weeks ago I received the bow back and it is beautiful. I'm so glad I bought it now. I love shooting it.
I also turned a new grunt call to match my bow. After all, a hunter needs to accessorize right?
Well here they are together. Can't wait to sit in the autumn woods with them together.

Great! How about a before pic?

I wish I had a before pic. I have some pics of the writing to verify the maker, Fred Anderson. But I never thought to take pics of the limbs. They had a few scuffs on the back, 20+years of use. What concerned me was all the cracks running from side to side, from the fades to the tips along the back of the bow. But she is pretty now.
