Last fall I purchased a used Bear Kodiak Magnum with a sight attached. For snicks and grins, I tried shooting it with the sight on, but the pins were way off for my shooting style.

Well, I've decided to remove it, and I'm wondering what would work to fill the two screw holes drilled in the riser.
Epoxy? Fiberglass resin? Glue?
I don't want to make a mess of it, and on the off-chance I might want to remount the sight some day (who knows, it might snow in hell some day), don't want anything too ultra-permanent.
But I don't want holes in the riser, either...
Suggestions?

many use sawdust mixed with superglue, riser inserts might also be an option

I would just leave the holes , there not going to get any worse .
Then someday if you are sure that your not going to remount the site , then fill them .

If I was in your frame of mind, Id probably just put the screws back in the holes and snug them down. If they are too long, id by a set of shorter ones.

Take a file or sandpaper to some white PVC pipe and get about enough shavings to fill the holes with clear glue and the shavings I did one and came out good. The green top hole try to find something plastic to do the same. Kip

I was considering Elmer's glue with shavings. Sounds do-able.

They make an epoxy for repairing small scratches and dings on white fiberglass boats. I used some one time, it was kinda pricey but did a good job on the boat, seems it was around $25 for a few oz bottle and the hardener ,always thought it would work great for holes in bows.
I have also added dye to epoxy to make it black, if they make a white dye l bet it would work too.

For now just take the pins off and leave the base.

Already removed the sight, Ron.
The PO used wood screws instead of inserts, left the holes sort of a mess.
In the end,I guess it's all cosmetic but I hate to see a nice bow mucked up.

Mix a little white paint in epoxy; fill the holes and let it dry. Sand down and spray with satin urathane. You can do the same with the green but the color match may be a bit more difficult.
