Went to scout out a new area that may provide some frog action

But before checking this area out I needed to look for some lost arrows....I think Sniper or Scout pulled them out of my quiver and threw them on the ground. Otherwise I have no idea how they became lost :goldtooth:
While in that process I came across a few of the locals

And along the way I did come across a few of these

The area I scouted was too dense with grass to perform a safe ground op's without risking Sniper or Scout to a no shoulders, so i'll have to perform more surveillance to find a suitable area.
-
Any crawfish mounds around or nervous critters taking the plunge? nice pics bro wish I could have joined ya!
-
Scout,
I had probably a half dozen or more frogs dive into the water at Boggy on the gator hole peninsula. That is where I came across what I assume is a Yellow belly water moccasin. It was about 3 1/2' long and thick!
-
Keep up the tough job of scouting new ground :)
-
Well Corey someone has to do it, seems like i'm beginning to take on the roles of both Sniper and Scout.
I guess it time for some new recruits :readit:
-
Me and Sniper will start a coup!
-
-
Looking forward to being the newest probationary recruit! Talked to John, and he gave me the go-ahead for some F.R.O.G. team harassment, uh, i mean hunting, haha! You guys should all come out and haze the new guy on Friday!! :scared:
-
Team,
I as Supreme Leader and F. R. O. G Captain have decided to try and recruit new members. This is due to the recent disrespect and mutiness behavior.
Johnny will join us on this Friday's mission. And based on his performance and yours as well, will decide the future make up of the team...
-
Good luck guys
-
Corey,
If you were not so bummed up at the moment you would work out fine in replacing Sniper

Wait a minute, did anyone else notice that Daniel just invite himself?????
Hahahaha!!!! :)
-
Corey,
Yeah, as the Supreme Leader nothing gets passed me and I've notice that, it seemed to have started at the HH when we mentioned eating frog legs.
Anyway to resume on the next mission...
-
As I was saying last night due to recent disruption within the F.R.O.G
Team I have decided to open the roster for a chance at a new position.
During recent posting of successful missions we have had several men who have stressed a desire to join our elite team, but not just any man can be a part of such an exclusive FORCE!
One resume submitted did pique my interest and after a personal interview I have selected our newest recruit.
Please welcome Johnny "Deadeye" Kinard.

BIO STATS:
HT: Est. 6'2"
WT: 205
Education: Ole Miss Graduate (Tommy only has a 6th grade certificate of attendance).
Other skills: Able to talk his way out of confrontations, can write, seems to speak intelligently, and runs the 40 in 11.0 flat (should be able to elude the Cottonmouths).
He will be vying for a position as Sniper...
-
haha! and i wear a patch over my dominant eye, and still wear 'em out left-handed!
-
Mission Location: Boggy I and II
Mission Objectives: Routine (relocate to freezers)
Mission Date: Friday 22 July 2016
Mission Time: O Dark Thirty
Mission Crew: Supreme Leader, Scout, New Recruit "Deadeye", and Sniper (if we can count on him to show up).
-
When your good Deadeye you don't need no eye. eyes are over rated!
-
Scout, has been busy setting up the mission plan, getting closer to proven time for Deadeye!
-
After many sleepless nights and much consideration I've resolved to relinquish my tenure as head scout. Countless Red Bugs, mid 90 deg. mercury levels while the rest of the team enjoys the comfort of their a/c and sofas, well it just can't continue. :banghead: My new self appointed lowly position of camera man/bag toter will just have to suffice. If the malicious rhetoric continues to spew across the team I'll simply pull a Donald and do things my way. This whole idea of submitting to anyone other than the wife is a new concept for me and I was hoping for a little understanding. I played hooky during Sensitivity 101 training so you'll have to excuse my pouting. We need strong leadership so Friday's your last chance to show significant improvement. Term limits exist within the F.R.O.G. statutes and impeachment proceedings could well be looming around the next muddy bend. Don't make up place One Eye as Croakmander in Chief!
-
Well, well, well, it seems I have awaken the killer instinct in at least one of the team member...and its about time!
I have waited and waited and waited for someone to step up and grow some bananas :readit:
These mission are extremely dangerous and we can not let the Viet Frog gain their positions back, it takes a team effort to defeat them and a team effort we will have!
Now we wait and see if Sniper will join us in regaining our swaggers :clapper:
-
And oh by the way I'll bring the "Hurt Feeling" form when I come Friday night for anyone of the team members who have a complaint about my Supreme Leadership :readit:
-
I have some extra "Hurt Feelings" reports at work I might go ahead and fill on out today! It's therapeudic or however you spell it. Should I expect an apology Friday night or is that beyond your Supreme capacity?
-
Apology??? For re-introducing the team to Supreme Leadership eh eh eh, there's no need.
What is needed is a concerted effort against these vile villians we call the Viet Frogs :banghead:
Now as we move on toward Friday's big showdown we can only hope 1. Sniper is on his A game and 2. New guy Deadeye is not full of hot air.
If so it could be a lonnng night
-
you know those new recruits… too green to be scared! :scared:
(though maybe being green is a good thing for a F.R.O.G. hunt?!)
-
Deadeye I'm expecting high and lofty things from you as a probationary recruit. Being a part of F. R. O. G is an especially high honor and not to be esteemed lightly.
Even at our worst we are better than the rest, we may have our bouts of complaints but we eventually pull together and gitrdone
-
i'm just hoping to add a couple scalps to the kill list. anything else (avoiding snakebite, not being eaten by a gator, not being fragged in the latrine by the other troops, having some blood left after the chiggers), i will simply consider a bonus!
-
Hey Supreme you reckon we oughta get a frog dog trained by Daniel so we can keep up with all Sniper's cripples?
-
Johnny @ 6'2" & 205 lbs you should not be concerned with the gators as most of them dont exceed 14'. As far as red bugs we found that a generous application of Fletch Tite Platinum to areas of concern seems to keep infestations to a minimum. Bring your Blacktail as all the ones I've ever seen were glossy show pieces I sure would like to see on with frog slime on it.
-
Thats great thinking there Scout on both the dog for Sniper and his wound rate and Deadeye bringing his Blacktail.
The way Sniper cripples or damages the legs on our frogs the Viet Frogs may want to establish their on Wounded Warrior chapter
-
i would bring the Blacktail, but it's a bit of a glossy showpiece as well. it's also a little heavy for lugging around in the swamp. i have gotten dialed in with my Maddog Prairie Predator (in frog-green Actionwood, no less! Our Supreme Leader has pics). it's a whole lot lighter and more maneuverable than my recurves.
i got out in the yard with my 10-year-old today for some stump shooting. i had the Prairie Predator and he had his Maddog Pup. we put the smack down on a water bottle (i aimed for the cap).
really looking forward to basic training tomorrow (said no recruit ever, haha!) also, 6'2" is a little generous (6'1"), and 205# is REALLLLY generous, lol. i'm couple cinder blocks north of that.
-
Your boy is more than welcome to accompany you and no fees for anyone under 16. Saw a review about 7 years ago on a Sheepeater. Dont it have static limbs?
-
Ah what's a cinder block or two. At best water will run over into your boots before mine. Latest weather says tomorrow night will be beautiful.
-
Had a couple of "Frog Stranglers" thunderstorms the last couple of days so i'm hoping the frogs get frisky!

Well tonight during one of our most grueling missions yet we will be going in with a new recruit Johnny "Deadeye" Kinard.
I don't normally speak of fear although I have shared of a reoccurring nightmare in the past.
But for some reason I have this gnawing in my gut... Say a prayer for our team tonight.
-
I know y'all will have a blast! Shoot straight, while we wait for the video and story of how the trip went

he's not quite as crazy as his old man yet, and we'd have to pry him away from his grandmother (no easy task!)
the Sheepeater does have static limbs. it's a short little booger, but it hits like a ton of bricks. i'll post a picture in a bit of me getting every bit i could out of it at my draw (about 28.5"). my RERs also have static limbs. the Retro is my #1 go-to bow. i really like the slim risers of the 50s style bows, and the lightness of the one-piece bows best.

ugh, the bad form… pretty high with the elbow, and you can see the downward torque i'm putting on the arrow. this was the first day i had it, and was still "getting to know it". they have a well-deserved rep for being kind of finicky, but man, do they thump an arrow?!

Geared up, and ready to report for duty! Shipping out soon...

In light of this gnawing feeling me and Scout decided to take an aggressive approach to this unknown source of fear and anxiety.
We left early for the mission sites and slipped in early for some observations.
I had a feeling that the Viet Frogs had entered into a pact with some partisans (the dreaded No-Shoulders) and I had a hunch that they had laid some traps for us.
We made our way to Boggy II with an idea of clearing anything that may be an obstacle for Deadeye. Knowing they knew we had a "green" one with us for tonights mission.
-
And as it has many time before My Supreme intuitions were right :reddit:
It wasn't long before Scout and me ran across their first trap...

And this would not be there last attempt at aborting our mission, but the F.R.O.G team is not your average fighting force and we don't back down to a fight...Click on video below.

We would in all take on 6 of their partisan forces and overcome them all! :bigsmyl:
-
I have the ultimate responsibility first and foremost to back up my men and to deter and overtake any and all enemy forces, and I do it well (of course with Scout exceptional assistances).
-
Deadeye be prepare for the fight of your life, I have a feeling this was not the last of their plans....
-
Ready to eat lightning and crap thunder, sir!
-
Y'all are cracking me up.
-
Well we survived, but it was a vicious grueling battle. A lot of give and take (mostly give on my part) but in the end we won.
Ask ole Deadeye how hard it is to make the team
-
Guys, I had about as much fun as a guy ought to be allowed. Don't let the Supreme Leader fool you. I took out the first enemy that crossed my path in spectacular fashion (don't ask me how badly I tapered off later!) But, I did put a few in the sack. You won't find a better group of guys than the F.R.O.G. Team, and I am most appreciative of their confidence. Those Vietfrogs are deadly, and I was glad to be amongst such ruthless operators. Snakes, gators and turtles abounded, but I made it out alive, and without earning a Purple Heart (soggy, wrinkled feet, and barking dogs apparently do not qualify one for such an honor). Look for a visual account of the team's bravery in the near future...
-
I decided to see if i could get one of our captives to give up the location of the enemy base today. I was thinking he would probably talk.
-
Alas, those boogers are tough and closed-mouthed, if not very cold tolerant. I decided it was best to go ahead and prep them for relocation to a super-secure holding facility, in a much colder climate than that to which they were accustomed. I don't think we'll have much trouble out of this bunch, until it's time to put the heat on them again.

-
hey guys, any luck on the mission video?
hoping to chase a gator this weekend. didn't get to go last weekend, but it'll be tough to top the F.R.O.G. mission, even if i get one!
-
Well,
Deadeye I left it in the hands of a rookie PR media type and well I'm still waiting.
I've already gave her an admonition that if she does not meet my demand for high quality surveillance film, I'll have her replacement quicker than you can bat an eye!
I think I scared her though and she hasn't been seen or heard from since.
Do you think i was to hard?
-
haha! time to put ol' PH on the case, i think.
-
I let her off the hook last night to attend church and figured a break would do good but as you can see I'm logged on so that means she's not behind the keyboard. Is this grounds for a court marshal?? It's 1/2 composed but that also means 1/2 undone. Perhaps our Supreme leader should drop another dime!
-
I won't say y'all are nuts, but if you were squirrels, the case would be closed!
How is it that you survive all these forays into gator holes, snake pits and turtle dens and come out with nothing but bug bites and sore feet?
I got so many bug bites just visiting neighbors I itched for 3 nites straight... Seriously? You guys cover up in bar grease or what? :knothead:  :banghead:
-
Doc,
You just got to run fast enough to beat the last guy in front of the snakes and gators
-
going gator hunting tonight. thought seriously about shooting it with one of my bows, but i need to up my odds a little, since it took me 8 years to draw a tag. i did make myself one SERIOUSLY sweet harpoon, though, for when i get him in close!
-
Gator mission was a success! Not trad, so i won't post any pics here, but MAN what an awesome experience! Got a 7-footer. Not a monster, but it was the biggest one we saw, and it was an epic battle!
-
Congrats on the gator pal!
