My bear super grizzly cracked where the limb and riser meet today, I have no clue how this happened. Ordered a Bob Lee exotic the ships Monday, I have to admit I feel heartbroken this being my first trad bow.
-
Broken bows , what a heart break . :(
-
Ya I'm pretty tore up about it, hope I'm going to like the Bob lee
-
Ouch sorry to hear that, you better order two bows to dull the pain.
-
How old a Super Grizzly is it?

I am glad you are ok! Sorry about the bow. I bet the Bob Lee is a phenomenal bow!
-
That hurts, sorry to hear that. Way to bounce back with the Bob Lee.
-
Unfortunately it happens. My original 1pc Silvertip decided to blow up a few weeks ago. Grrr.
-
I have been lucky in that I have never had a bow break, but I have been reading and hearing of this happening since the 1960's. In short, it happens. It sure is a bummer, especially when the bow has a special significance. I'm glad you were not hurt, and I think you will enjoy the Bob Lee bow.
-
Ya I'm glad I'm not hurt, wonder if the factory can fix it? Basically needs a new limb
-
Bows only 2 years old
-
Sorry to hear about your bow but it happens.
Might talk with the factory if it is only 2 years old. Enjoy your bob Lee.
-
Went to archery shop where I bought it today, dropped it off and said they will contact bear and see what they can do to get it back in my hands, regardless I told the fiance I'm getting the Bob Lee for my 30 bday present, sounds like a win win I hope.
-
You will Kyle. Have had my Exotic Bicentennial for a few weeks now and love it.
-
My KMag went to bow heaven last fall, it's a bummer no doubt.
-
Ugh....sorry....and, congrats! Bob Lee bows are very nice bows.

Wow I had imagined a vintage grizzly. That really sucks, hopefully bear will do the right thing

Kyle,
If you're thinking about a possible repair, look up JamesV on here he does some amazing work in repairing damaged bows.
He recently took a broken Black Widow that was 51 years old and put new limb on it. Not a takedown but a one piece bow.
You can read and see some of the pic's on the other site.
Even if you didnt want to repair it, you may just donate the broken bow to him to use, just a thought.

I would think Bear Archery would warranty any defect as long as there was no abuse involved, which sounds like there wasn't. I'm sure you'll enjoy the Bob Lee....my 2002 Classic is still my main bow.
-
Here's the bow I'm getting, are the limbs really that light in color

Hope my 400 spine 30 inch trad only arrows will work with a 200 grain point on it
-
That's a looker! Congrats!
-
What kind of material is the striker plate and on shelf and where can I get the same ones when need replaced?
-
Velcro side plate and a leather shelf, i do belive.
-
At least you get to console yourself with a Bob Lee.
-
Birdseye is one of my faves, very sharp looking stick!
if the bow breaking caused your to get that bob lee than maybe it wasnt such a bad deal after all :)
-
Sorry about your Bear, however you will really enjoy your new Bob Lee. They are great bows.
-
I've lost 3 classics myself. BTW that Bob Lee is 100 times nicer than the Bear.
-
If the bow is only two years old, I would definitely give Bear a call and see if they will do anything for you. I'd be interested in knowing what their response is.
-
the shop has contacted them but the other employee is out today, so im still waiting to see whats up with it, getting rediculous.

I've had good luck with Bear customer service in the past with a non trad bow. I betcha they make it right. If you can't get your shop to get it moving I wouldn't hesitate to contact them on your own. I went directly to them with my issue, and it was resolved very fast with just a phone call.
-
I agree with the above. I would be the one doing the calling. You can probably answer any questions they may have easier than your shop. And, even more importantly, you can ask all the questions you need answered.

There's a Jeff Kavanagh video on YouTube where he had a Grizzly he owned for years blow up on him, and Bear sent him a new bow. I think his bow was 20 years old, and they still gave him a new bow.

Hmmm, I wonder if that would work on my '56 Kodiak and '65 Kodiak that blew up?

Jeff is also an awesome shot and was giving them lots of really good publicity. I wonder if they would do the same for every vintage grizzly owner.
-
Not a bad bday present... Still sucks about the bear
-
I think Bear will make good and you'll have two bows now!
