Hey guys,
I need some recommendations for new string. I would like to try the BCY-X and Halo serving.
I am new to both of these products.
I shoot 55# recurves and shoot Beman centershots with H-nocks.
Was hoping somebody could give me recommendations on strand count for the BCY-X and Halo serving size.
Thanks,
Rob

I use 18 strand flemish padded to 22(with b-50) with BCY-X, two wraps of teflon plummers tape and over serve with .021 62xs, halo will also work. With the plummers tape no need to double serve and saves weight in center of string. 50-55# bows.

I don't know what you normally shoot, but here are my notes from my post-it verbatim.
Flemmish strings for X nocks:
D97, 16 strands, #4 nylon serving or equivalent halo (.024). Padding good 0-2 strands per bundle on bows I've twisted for.
BCY-X, 22 strands, serving the same. No padding tried or tested at this time.
I hope that helps you.

18 strands X with .024 Halo gives me a GT fit that snaps on but slides on the serving easily.

I build my BCY-X strings just like katman but sometimes pad to 24 strands. This combo has become my favorite string.

Chad makes my strings. Same specs as SteveB

I do 16 strands padded to 20 for my 40# Omega. I like it better than any other material.

I normally use 18-20 strands. Serving size on the type nock.
BCY-X and Halo are both excellent choices for material.

I like 18 strands of BCY-X and padded to 22 in the loops served with .021 Halo. Not all .021 servings are exact,.021 Halo fits great, but 62XS .021 feels alittle looser and BCY Power grip .021 feels tighter.
