I ordered a Ghost Blind today. I have a couple hunts coming up where I need something I can set up quick, and I think this may be easier than a pop up since it won't require as much brushing in, and the top is open and that helps shooting a longbow. One of the hunts is a state ran draw hunt, and sometimes it's hard to find the right tree with limited time for scouting, etc.. The other is down in south Tx and there are no trees on that one!! I found a couple threads about them on here, but they were old threads. Anybody still using one? Any tips for set up? I got one with the height extenders to make it a little taller.

Get the carry case for it, it is much easier to maneuver in the field when it's on your back. Also, be sure to have a good comfortable stool, preferably with a swivel. You'll also want to set up with some cover to one side or behind you, as you have to sit far enough behind it to maneuver a bow with an arrow nocked, leaving you exposed from the sides.

My mother-in-law bought me one a few years ago along with the height extenders and the carry case. I have used it a few times, never got a shot while using it but did have some turkeys and deer get pretty close to the blind without spooking, too close to be exact and I couldn't move my bow to get into shooting position. My main complaint is that its hard to get set up correctly in hilly terrain, and if any animal comes in from behind you your toast. If you get the carry case check the zippers and use some caution when zipping and unzipping, I have had to send 2 cases back because the zippers broke.

Thanks for the tips. My plan, especially on this drawn hunt, is to set it up over a trail with good brush at my back and the wind in my face, and maybe pile a little brush up in front too. Then wear a toboggan or else nothing at all on my head. I'm a firm believer deer pick out the bill of a cap a lot of times. This hunt is in a state park where there is normally no hunting allowed. The state closes the park a couple times a year and allows drawn hunters to come in for population control type hunts. I'm excited about this hunt as much or more than any hunt I've been on in a long time. I've been applying for these drawings for 7 or 8 years now and finally got drawn for one, and the one I was drawn for is only about 30 minutes from home so it worked out great.

I've been using one on and off for a couple years now and love it, in fact I took a spike out of it this past year...however a few important things I've learned are:
It's very important to cut some branches (I prefer the ones still with leaves) and push them in the ground in front of the blind and stand them up the mirrors will magnify this and you WILL disappear.
Pick a spot with some back drop, yes you will get busted from behind if you don't. If I can't find good back cover again I cut branches and fill in around the back this helps but isn't perfect
Watch your movement no matter what cause even they can't pick you out if they catch that movement they go into high alter...

Ive had many set ups like this... Good luck!!

That looks great!! Do you normally take it down after every hunt, or have you left it up a few days at a time before?

I always pack mine up, if I'm going back to the same spot the next day I fold it up and leave it there I've heard people having trouble with dew fogging up the mirrors so I just fold it up and leave it since they're pretty easy to setup and take down.

Good luck on your draw hunt!

Thanks guys!! I'm getting antsy. I have an exotic and hog hunt and this draw hunt in October, then headed to south Tx in November or December. Pretty much all my set ups here at home are ready to go too. It'll be here before we know it.

The blind got here today. So far it seems like it should work great. Lightweight, goes up and down easy. I got the extensions and they go in easy. I just wish I was hunting out of it this evening instead of headed out to work. Won't be long though!!
