I love the old Bear bows. I found a 68 Grizzly that I was thinking on, but it's a 56'' bow. I have a 29'' DL, maybe a hair over. Would it be too short for me?

Hard one to answer.
Your best bet, if possible, would be to draw it and see. I have a 29-29.5" DL and shoot a 58" Grizzly with no stacking. I also shoot a 52" K-Mag with no issues though others have reported issues. As I mentioned, the only real way to know for sure is to draw it, but off the cuff, I would say you will probably be fine.

It is my bow that is for sale. I don't think the guys down here in Texas know about the 56" Grizzly. I guess that it can just stay here for a while longer.

I have a 29 inch draw and love the 56 inch grizzly! especially the 68 model. I have had over 20 different bear bows. I own 2 still, the 68 Grizz and a 60 Kodiak.

What do you guys use as a good starting point for brace height on your '68 Grizzly?
I have a beauty that was my fathers and I'm looking to get a new string on it and get shooting it.

Slight sidetrack; I owned/owned a few Grizzly's but they have all been 58". How do the 56" one compare? I've considered going on the hunt for one.

Burnsie
I can't say because I am right handed and my Grizz is a lefty, but I would start at 7 1/4 to 7 1/2" brace height and see what it sounds like.

Burnsie, Mine is just right at 8 1/4"

Bear listed their recurve draw lengths in their catalogs as "unlimited". The 67.5 catalog I can access says unlimited DL for the Grizzly. Don't have access to a 68 catalog, but later years indicate the same unlimited DL.
