Title: Yellow Jacket target fill material

So less than 2 weeks ago I had to replace my yellow jacket target. It was getting moldy and stinky so I got another. With the new target it seemed that no matter what bow and what arrow my wife and I were shooting at it, the points were getting stuck. Well I started shooting wood arrows a few days ago and today I actually had to cut 2 arrows out of the target. I got a good look at the fill material today. Normally they have pieces of cloth or felt but this one had what looked like polyester netting connected with what looked like fishing line (like a honeycomb). Anyone else ever get a bad bag target with fill material that just won't work out for it's purpose? Looks like I will be getting another target tomorrow. I might try a layered foam target. I used them with my compound but it wouldn't stop arrows.

I have only had a couple of bag targets. I got them so long ago that I don't remember who made them, but arrows always tended to hang up in them. The back of the head seemed to hang up in the bag fabric, not the filler. The filler looked like polyester batting such as you would find in a pillow and works fairly well. I haven't seen any filler that looked like netting.

I almost bought a bag target not long ago but decided to splurge and get a 3D deer instead. I'm glad I did. Also, I have used several foam targets. They have worked well, but the center will shoot out.

I use a 3"x5" piece of rubber from an old bike inner tube in my hand. Just grab the shaft with the rubber and pull.  The rubber will not not slip on the shaft.

I THINK I know what you guys are experiencing and it happened to me too but what I started doing to all my field points was before mounting them on the shafts I will run a file around the outside of back edge a couple times (where the shaft would go inside or screw up to)  so it had a little bevel,, basically just slant that flat edge down into the shaft and no no matter what I shoot into they pull out pretty good for me now.

my yard target is a burlap bag stuffed with heavy clear construction sheeting.

I agree with Tajue17, check the BOP for a lip.
