Sick of this weather here!!!...So I went for a stroll through yesteryear....
Ran this years ago, after a friend took what was the absolute perfect pic. Now remember, this has been over 10 years ago, it was NOT taken with one of those new 4K camera's or what ever. It's a pic of me in the Cohutta Wilderness on a long lead that I love to glide through.
Now before I show you one of mine, I want to invite you to show one of yours, or maybe two.
This is NOT a Big Animal Hero pic thread, but a scenic photography request.....where everything was just perfect with the lighting, composure, depth, etc....I know Randy Burtis has one of his elk, yes, perfect hero pics count also.
We've all seen and will continue to see super hero pics here, so lets take some time out and show some hunting pics that turned out PERFECT!
You should see this one on my wall, its framed and about 24 inches wide....it looks like you could walk into it.....

Excellent picture Terry! It does look like you could walk right into it! This will be a fun thread to follow!

Excellent Terry! I love good photography.

I have one I’d post, but can’t figure out the imgur thing, so I’ll just wait for the new platform and post it then.

About five years ago my son took this pic of me elk hunting in Colorado. We were at our base camp at a little over 7,000 feet.

-
Deleted Kooper's photo because of the massive size.
-
You insert the URL in the "image" function in the full reply function.
I'm going to delete the picture however because the size is sorta wrecking the topic. You can upload a resized version of your pictures to imgur.
-
Not sure how to post pics here but I could email them or text to someone who can.

A couple years ago I climbed a tree on gamelands and had a vertigo attack right at dusk. I managed to get home safely but had to go back the next rainy morning to get my stand. I asked my wife to go with me as I was still a bit unstable after the bout with dizziness.
She snapped this about halfway to the stand.
Muzzle loader season had started.

Sunrise on Lizard Lake. I hunt moose here with a buddy. That evening, we had four bulls come to our calls. I had two within 30 yards and couldn't see them through all the blowdowns. My buddy got a shot at last light that hit a twig and went high.

It was a cooler day with a steel gray looking sky as my hunting partner jim rode away with the pack mule Jack, my horse Twist, and his mare Bella (mid picture) leaving me well immersed in a back country Colorado canyon until the close of the archery elk season. As I stood beside my tent watching him ride out I was filled with mixed emotions as the sunlight broke through a hole in the clouds dramatically hitting the canyon meadows he rode through... what I feel when I look at this photo are those emotions... maybe the most outstanding is that feeling of not visiting elk country but being immersed in it, becoming part of it every hour of every day for weeks...
-
Jim and I returned with the horses after elk season was closed to pack out the tent and remainder of our gear on a blue bird day. The snow had melted off the canyon meadows and all the way up to the mountain tops seen behind us. It was simply a glorious ride... I loved my horse, she was sure footed and patient with me through the most challenging terrain I'm certain I'll ever have the opportunity to ride.

Can't believe it was three years ago. When my son wasn't quite two.
We were hunting grouse. When this view opened up Connor stopped in his tracks. I managed a couple pics, but had to stop quickly. The lake was so calm he was a little confused I think and started walking out in it ! I snatched him up before the water was over his boot tops.

Montana Elk hunting... Rough trip, but literally seen the only Elk of the trip right there about two minutes after that pic was taken... 3 cows and a decent 5x5... Never heard bugle one...

Pretty sure the Panoramic view won’t translate well here, but pretty awesome full size...

I hope this fits the bill for this thread. This is a trail cam pic, but it came out very well. This was right after an ice storm and the cat was posing for the camera.

Nice edition guys. Some of these pics have what I was originally looking for... 3 dimensional depth. The goat above is a great example of both horizontal and vertical depth and perfect exposure. I love that pic.
Casey, if possible could you email me the the largest file you have of that pic that would be great.
That pic is one of several on this eleven page thread that are just perfect.

That’s awesome. I have some great memories as a kid hunting out of stands just like that one. Killed lots deèr from em. A few stands like that one were on a farm I had permission to hunt on 40 years ago. All farms to be honest but this one in particular I’m referring to. I remember some of the deer I’d seen, shot at, killed very clearly. Kind of a favorite farm. Few years ago the state bought out the property and I had the chance to walk some old grounds and recollect. The ground has grown up and I believe I’d not sit the spots any longer but.., Remnants of some of the stands are still there, pretty neat and sorta bittersweet in a way

Here's an old one that I found while scouting this winter. It's not really usable but I still appreciated that the loggers left it and the tree that it was in.
