I hope someone can help.
I am having the local archery shop finish some carbon arrows for me. I have been shooting wood arrows for about 1 year - never carbon.
I shoot a 50#@27 1/2, RD. I want at least 500 grains in arrow weight.
The guy building the arrows insist that I should go with Gold Tip 7595 at 29" with a 50 grain insert.
This arrow seems too stiff to me.
Any advise?
By the way he is only going to fletch two for me to try - I just dont want to waste more time if someone with experience can tell me I should go with the 5575.

3 rivers has a spine chart for carbons as a pdf file from the carbon arrows catalog page.It shows 55-75 for my 52#@29.5 with 30" arrow 125 gt tip.I am presently shootin 400spine easton epics with a 125 point and they seem fine.a little light at 450 gr but some weight tubes will fix that.I used to use some black tubing from hardware store @9.1 gr/in in GT55-75s but think I'll get some carbon express tubes made for the purpose.
Short answer:55-75 seems good from my longhorn at 31"length,I also have tried 100 gr brass insert with the 125 but that is too weak,I think the 75-95 will be stiff @28.5" for you. Try a bareshaft with the 2 fleched and let us know .Hope this helps.

Yep probably too stiff for a 50# bow. I shoot them out of 60-72# bows 29" with 100 gr insert and 200 gr head.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have read Gold Tip's charts which rec. the 5575 for my specs.
He said the added weight at the tip plus the 29" arrow would require more stiffness (7595).
The bowyer reccommended Beman MFX 400 filled with shotshell compound to reach 585gr - I was hoping to save a little money on the Gold Tips
By the way Danny my bow is actually 55@28 I think I am pullling under that weight though

I shoot 45lb an the GT chart recommends the 5575.
I have both 3555 and 5575's on hand.
The 3555 fly better than the 5575,an thats cut to the correct length with 125g heads.
I'd find a new dealer.

The dealer is wrong... going to be a bit too stiff... full length arrows would be a bit better... try the 55's.

Man, I just went through the same thing with the gold tips. I am shooting a 56 lb long bow - I started with the 7595's with 150 grains in the tip inseret and 160 point. No matter how much weight I added i could not weaken the spine. Also tried the 5575's and had to add more weight than I was willing to shoot. They did not fly. I ended up with the 3555 with 70 grains in the insert 160 tip.(total arrow weight is 505 grains) You may get the 5575 to fly if you add enough weight. What type of bow you shoot will also be a factor. You can get away with stiffer arrows when shooting a re-curve. PM me if you need to try one before you spend the $. It adds up. Hope this helps you.

I am pulling about 54# out of my recurve and I am shooting 30" 5575's with 100grns of insert weights and a 125grn point. It sure seems the 7595's with the setup your bow shop is recommending will be too stiff.

I am shooting a 55# recurve. My arrows are 5575 at 28.5" with 200 grains total point weight and 3gpi insert tubes. My guess is you would need probably at least 300 grains of point weight with 7595s. Sounds like your dealer isn't that experienced setting up gold tip shafts.

I shoot the 7595's out of my 74lb compound with a 125gr tip on it. Definatly to stiff for your setup.
