any body out there shoot 3 fingures under and what is the good and bad of shooting like this iseem to shoot a little better like this does an body else gettem close

Shoot which ever gives you a clean release and the most consistent groups. Some prefer three under as it gets the arrow closer to your eye vs split finger and can help with grouping.
-
I shoot three under, always have, but Katman said the important stuff.

We teach archery in our school up here in Mackay Idaho and the kids we teach seem to be much more comfortable with three under. I have shot since I was 6 split fingers and I tried the three under and just couldn’t make it work. I have to agree with Katman, you got to go with what feels right and works best for you.

Biggest problem with three under is that the longer your shots the arrow tip will be above where you are aiming. The first couple times this happens it is weird but you can get used to it like anything else.
-
I shot first split fingers, but my problem was that the arrow nock was squeeezed a bit and when on releasing, the arrow nock got a slight push away.
Three under resolved that problem for me. Also the arrow line-up is somewhat better for me as well.

I put what ever finger directly under the arrow in the corner of my mouth, so there is no effect to sight picture. I shoot 3 under but occassionally try split for a while.

I shoot exactly like Al and he's right the sight picture is the same if you put your index finger in the corner of your mouth. I had a few fellas tell me that the farther I got away from the target the arrow would be in my sight picture. I asked Fred Asbell about this and he said that though he prefered split finger for instinctive shooting, it really didn't matter. He said,"Do you really think one finger is going to make a difference!"

Three under is a good way to get kids started. It gets them hitting and having fun real quick and eliminates some issues like arrow pinch, finger pinch and gets the arrow up under the eye. Start them 3 under with a deep hook so they can pull easy and you've gone a long way to creating a new archer.

yea im going to keep shooting that way i just seem to group alot better this way plus i hardly ever shoot past 25 yards any way i like em about 15 yards

Schnitz:
You might want to try TWO-under. (Some guys use the middle- and ring-fingers; I use the index- and middle-finger.) That's something I learned from a friend who's one of the best trad shooters here in Wisconsin.
Makes sense . . . less contact with the string should mean less potential for error.

I shot split fingers at first, then a couple of years later I tried 3 under and haven't gone back. For me groups are better and more comfort in long shooting sessions, but you must try both and decide for yourself.

I've shot both ways, but now shoot 3 under. I'm much more accurate this way. While taking lessons with Rick Welch he told me that he tested extensively using both methods, and concluded that he was more accurate with 3 under. It won't be more accurate for everyone though. Do whichever feels better. I don't consider myself a gap shooter at all, but I know my brain subconsciously uses a gap. That gap is much smaller with 3 under, and it is easier for my little pea brain to compute!
