Title: What are advantages of Flemish strings?
Post by: Naphtali on February 25, 2007, 10:52:00 AM
What are the advantages, and disadvantages, of using Flemish strings?

Is this string usable on compound bows, also?

They are quieter & smoother shooting. They produce a little slower arrow speed, but I personaly don't think the differance in apeed is worth it. I like the feel of the flemish string. Besides, they look more traditional. They do take alittle longer to break-in, due to the fact that they keep stretching longer than the other choices. Hope this helps.

I've never heard of flemich srings on compounds. I don't think it would be practical.

Also you can twist a flemish string more than an endless loop string when adjusting the brace height after it creeps a little.

Flemish strings also have the same amount of strands in the loops as the string (16 strands in string,16 strands in loop etc.)which would make it stronger. I also made some short FF flemish strings  for a compound of a friend and they worked fine.My 2 cents.  :goldtooth:    :goldtooth:
